How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

Captivating Talking Points
Maybe it's recency bias, but that was the best first half we've played this season. Watkins, Sancho, and Rogers all look confident on the ball for maybe the first time ever.
Watkins with good attempts that lead to corners. He's playing like a man possessed.
We still have a bit too much hesitation actually shooting the ball, but overall that was a beautiful half.

best performance since the new year, really sharp. McGinn is so important. Tielemans back is a huge lift.
fair play to Mavropanos, immense individual display especially in that first half, we could’ve had 4 or 5 if not…
Wow. Everything has been incredibly easy for Villa. At no point was a single player of theirs under pressure in their defensive or middle third of the pitch.
Also very tough to watch these replays of Disasi ducking away from McGinn’s shot 😢
They occupy the defence so much better than fulkrug, Wilson or pick any other non Antonio forward over last 5 ish years. It’s not a surprise our form turned when we got forwards who cb have to be worried about
We really, really miss Summerville’s spark at the start. I know the line up was disrupted by Todibo getting injured, but Traore should have started on the left. Nuno got that wrong.

So cliche but the first goal is so important in this one. If we get it, sit back and counter. Villa haven't been great recently so would struggle to break through and we'd definitely get further chances. Feel like it's t…

I still think we’re playing Sancho on the wrong side lads. I know it seems weird but I just can’t shake that I feel he’d threaten the goal more cutting inside on his stronger foot
I just don’t think he offers enough that’s all, hasn’t done much wrong in fairness
I don’t mind him giving what he thought he saw and being over-ruled when he’s wrong. I’m happy with that. You’ve got a bit too tight to us at times, particularly Potts but otherwise not many fouls or decisions for him to make I’d say.
typical west ham they play man city and get an unexpected draw and then go and throw it away the next game I hope I am proved wrong but it looks like their going down
I was actually just joshing. I’d heard the rumour of course but I actually like Pablo.
@abwaxy123 @WestHam Because he thinks he's much better than he actually is.
Only just saw this on a replay, you're bang on, he got very lucky with where McGinn put it
◆ Algo-Amplified — Boosted Without Substance
All of a sudden the positivity is back. Europa quarters, McGinn, Youri, rivals losing, today's win, 6pt gap to 6th
Late Todibo injury seems to have messed things up formation wise because we've never given teams that much space,
Summerville coming back is a big plus but Bowen/Taty need to start stepping up, we won't be carried just by Summervilles good run of form
Need to get Fernandes back in the middle. Take off Potts. Stick another player on the left
Villa 0-2 West Ham surely : Early goal from Soucek, we withstand heavy pressure Villa test us a lot, Rogers hits the crossbar, Watkins also goes close, but with 3 minutes left of the 90 to go Todibo scores a bullet header making it 2 for us giving us a huge win COYI!!!.
While Luiz and Buendia are serviceable players, they should not be weekly starters for a club fighting for a UCL spot.
Digne is one of the best defenders (slight hyperbole) in the world at defending headers at the far post, he somehow gets his head on so many of those balls.
Only 1-0 is a good break for us. Very badly need some changes at half. I don’t know what we can do with the personnel we have available but think Pablo needs moved off the left wing to a central position
to me it seems taty and pablo have been most successful when opening space and creating chances for the likes of bowen and summerville. with crys out, we need at least traore or wilson out there to make runs
I’m a simple man. I see Ollie score, I smile. I fucking love Ollie so it’s such a joy to see him bury it.
Townsend wondering why he didn't put Kilman in there, I guess he hasn't seen him play in a West Ham shirt.

This is what’s wrong with VAR. Refs just make the most impactful possible decision and then worry about whether it’s right or not after. It’s just a safety net for refs and that’s it.
I don't think he's been terrible tbh, which is my benchmark for the incompetent cunts at PGMOL
One big decision to make, got it wrong, VAR did its job, but it was an understandable error IMO
Quite often the refs ruin the game in the PL, I don't think he has, yet.
I actually disagree, it looked like Spurs were starting to get a little confidence back and now they just got battered at home in a relegation six pointer. Could totally destroy that locker room again. They have a pretty tough run of games to close the season too

Emerging
Controversial
Aston Villa fans are divided between appreciation for recent positive performances and frustration over the club's inconsistent ambitions, with rival supporters acknowledging Villa's improvement whilst some Villa faithful argue the team should prioritise trophies over European qualification. West Ham Fans Brutal on Disastrous Performance
Emerging
West Ham supporters are absolutely fuming after a dreadful display, with fans hammering both the team's dire football and the goalkeeper's inability to keep out poor goals. Disputed Performance and Transfer Speculation Swirl
Emerging

Fans are divided on a player's recent performance and contribution to the match, with some questioning his energy levels and game-time allocation, whilst others pivot to discussing potential transfer targets and squad reinforcements. The discussion reveals neutral sentiment overall, suggesting fans are genuinely torn between critiquing his recent form and recognising his underlying quality.
McGinn's Return Transforms Aston Villa's Midfield
Aston Villa fans are celebrating John McGinn's comeback from injury, crediting his return alongside fellow midfielder Tielemans with dramatically lifting the team's performance and transforming their sluggish midfield into something sharp and dangerous again. The consensus is crystal clear: McGinn is criminally underrated across the Premier League, and his absence had been far more damaging than most neutrals realised.
Mavropanos Carries Villa Through Shambolic Display
Controversial
Aston Villa fans are united in one thing after this match — their Greek defender Mavropanos has been absolutely world-class, single-handedly keeping the scoreline respectable in what's otherwise been a disastrous performance. He's the only positive to emerge from a game that's left supporters furious with everyone except their towering centre-back, who's getting compared to all-time greats.
Controversial Goal Settles Tense Relegation Battle
Emerging
Controversial
Fans are debating a controversial goal that earned their side a crucial point in a tight relegation fight, with opinions split between relief at the result and frustration over the circumstances surrounding the strike. Premier League Referees Under Fire Again
Emerging
Controversial
Fans are absolutely fuming with referee performance and VAR inconsistency, arguing that officials are making obvious mistakes and taking far too long to review decisions when they finally get them right. There's particular frustration that VAR seems to intervene on non-penalties but miss genuine shouts, with supporters demanding accountability from PGMOL's refereeing standards.
Potts Debate Masks Wider Tactical Concerns
Fans are divided over whether Potts deserves his place in the side, with some defending him against comparisons to Magassa, whilst others believe Wilson and Adama offer more dynamism and would better suit the team's attacking needs. Sancho's Form Impresses As Debate Swirls
Controversial
Fans are expressing genuine surprise and appreciation at Jadon Sancho's recent performances, with multiple posts highlighting his dangerous attacking play over the last few matches. The conversation also touches on defensive performances, particularly around Matty Cash's role shifts and mixed results, though opinions remain divided on his effectiveness in different positions.
Bowen's Form Collapse Leaves West Ham in Crisis
Emerging
West Ham fans are absolutely tearing into Jarrod Bowen's recent performances, claiming he's become a one-dimensional player that opposition defences have completely figured out, with supporters questioning why he's even on the pitch given how invisible he's been. The frustration runs deeper though — they're warning that dropping points when they desperately needed wins means the club can't afford to rely on Spurs doing them favours in the title race anymore.
Relegation Battle Collapse—Fans Demand Answers
Fans are tearing into their team's abysmal performance, criticising everything from goalkeeper and centre-back errors to non-existent attacking shape and midfield presence. The overwhelming consensus is one of despair—with accusations of poor decision-making and tactical confusion suggesting the club could go down this season, though one voice offers mitigation citing a last-minute formation change.
West Ham Face Relegation Battle Amid Fan Frustration
Fans are locked in debate about West Ham's relegation prospects, with some convinced the club is doomed to drop down whilst others argue there's still everything to play for. The discussion reveals deep anxiety about the team's trajectory and structural problems at the club, ranging from tactical selections to ownership and management quality.
Fans Accept Defeat, Call Time on Discussion
Emerging
A thread about player performance has wound down with supporters reaching consensus and checking out of the conversation, suggesting they've either accepted an unfavourable outcome or simply exhausted their talking points. The neutral sentiment and repeated phrases like "that's a wrap" and "we're done" indicate resignation rather than heated debate—fans are essentially saying there's nothing left to discuss here.
Barkley's Redemption Arc Under Emery's Guidance
Emerging
Fans are collectively praising Ross Barkley for a genuinely strong performance, with several suggesting he was the standout player of the match before his substitution. There's a broader recognition that manager Unai Emery has successfully rehabilitated Barkley's career and reputation, transforming him from a figure of ridicule into someone elite clubs would now pursue.
West Ham's Desperate Summerville Problem
Emerging
West Ham fans are in panic mode over the absence of Crysencio Summerville, convinced the side lacks any attacking threat without him and fearing the injury could derail their season. There's mounting frustration that other attacking players like Bowen and Adama Traoré aren't stepping up to fill the void, with supporters increasingly worried the team simply cannot function at full capacity without their star man.
Nuno's Tactical Gambles Fail to Convince Wolves Fans
Wolves supporters are divided over manager Nuno Espírito Santo's recent tactical decisions and overall record, with frustration centring on his reluctance to play defender Kilman, his avoidance of a 4-4-2 formation, and scepticism about premature praise given the club remains in the relegation zone with a dire win ratio of 6 in 26 matches — though some credit him for stabilising the side after Potter's disastrous tenure.
Soucek Vindication Clashes With Pablo Frustration
Emerging
Controversial
Fans are locked in debate over midfielder Soucek's recent performances, with supporters defending his form during the team's strong run contrasting sharply with those wanting him dropped after today's loss. Meanwhile, there's widespread frustration with fellow midfielder Pablo Felipe, whose inconsistent displays and occasional errors have left supporters questioning whether he deserves continued chances at this level.
Ollie Watkins Silences Critics With Match-Winning Performance
Emerging
Controversial
Fans are celebrating Ollie Watkins' standout display and goalscoring contribution, with even previous doubters now full of praise for his all-round play and effort. The discussion highlights manager Unai Emery's obvious faith in the forward and reflects genuine affection from supporters who are witnessing a player performing at his best.
Controversial Penalty Decision Divides Fanbase
Fans are locked in debate over whether a penalty should have been awarded, with a significant portion convinced it was a dodgy call—arguing the defender won the ball cleanly and questioning why other players aren't held to the same strict standards. The decision has left viewers furious at what they see as inconsistent officiating, with some threatening to switch off if the team actually scores from it.
Fans Split On McGinn's Moment Of Skill
Controversial
Supporters are divided over a standout piece of play from McGinn, with some praising the execution as beautifully worked whilst others dismiss it as underwhelming. The largely neutral reaction suggests fans couldn't quite agree whether this was genuinely special or just routine stuff dressed up nicely.
Onana Delivers His Best Performance in Weeks
Emerging
Controversial
Fans across 42 posts are largely praising Amadou Onana's dominant midfield display, with many arguing he deserves Man of the Match honours for his work rate, ball-winning ability, and all-round excellence. The consensus suggests this was a significant performance that showcased why he's become a crucial player for Villa, though a handful of jokers and dissenters provide the only pushback.
Hermansen Under Fire After Costly Mistake
Emerging
Fans are divided over goalkeeper Hermansen's performance, with many harshly criticising a crucial error that led to a goal whilst others defend him and argue that one mistake shouldn't overshadow his recent decent form. The broader frustration reveals nostalgia for previous keepers like Areola and Fabianski, suggesting deeper concerns about the club's goalkeeping decisions.
Youri Returns and Fans Go Wild
Emerging
Supporters are absolutely buzzing about a key player — seemingly Youri — making his comeback after time away, with the fanbase treating his return as the moment their season truly kicks into gear. The energy is unmistakable: fans believe this signing or return of form is the catalyst that transforms their campaign.
Watkins Goal Sparks Debate Over Poor Finishing
Controversial
Fans are split on whether Watkins's goal represents a genuine turning point after a woeful season, or merely a tap-in that masks deeper technical issues — with most agreeing the finish owed more to shocking goalkeeping than any resurgence in form. The broader conversation highlights frustration at England selection, with supporters questioning why underperforming players like Rashford and Cole Palmer are favoured when Watkins himself has been equally disappointing.
Dodging Bullets and Laughing at Rivals' Mistakes
Fans are relieved their club avoided signing a player who ended up at a relegation-threatened rival, viewing it as a narrow escape from a costly mistake. The discussion centres on how smart recruitment strategy—sometimes doing nothing—beats panic buying, whilst they're quietly satisfied watching their former target struggle elsewhere.
Controversial Late Penalty Decision Sparks Fury
Controversial
Fans are almost universally convinced the referee got it wrong by awarding a penalty that shouldn't have been given, with many questioning why VAR didn't intervene and expressing frustration at the inconsistency of Premier League officiating. The debate centres on whether the tackle was clean and whether, even if a foul occurred, the subsequent chance was genuinely better than a penalty would have been.
Transport Chaos Forces Fans to Leave Early
Fans are defending supporters who leave matches before the final whistle, arguing that abysmal public transport links — particularly trains and buses running at insufficient capacity — make it logistically impossible to stay until full time without facing hour-long delays getting home. The discussion reveals genuine frustration with infrastructure rather than any lack of commitment to the team, though some argue early departures damage the stadium atmosphere.
Managing Expectations After Tough Run of Fixtures
Emerging
Controversial
Fans are debating whether a recent draw against a top-four side represents a decent result or a missed opportunity, with most arguing that dropping points against elite opposition was always likely and that the team still has genuinely winnable matches ahead to salvage their season. The consensus is pragmatic rather than panicked—supporters are cautioning against overreacting to individual results when the campaign's outcome remains in their hands, though some worry about the quality and intensity of recent performances.
Bailey's Inconsistency Divides Fan Opinion
Emerging
Controversial
Fans are debating Bailey's performance and consistency, with opinions split between those recognising glimpses of quality when he's supported by teammates and those frustrated by his apparent lack of physical strength and one-on-one capability. The discussion centres on whether he represents value for money and if an upgrade is needed at the position.
Spurs In Freefall Amid Relegation Battle Chaos
Controversial
Fans are divided between schadenfreude at Spurs' catastrophic form—including a 3-0 home loss to a relegation-battling side—and genuine concern that their own team might somehow collapse badly enough to go down alongside them. There's dark humour about Spurs' desperation mixed with anxiety that the relegation fight remains wide open despite Spurs looking utterly finished.
Mavropanos Carries West Ham Through Villa Masterclass
Controversial
West Ham fans are united in acknowledging that defender Konstantinos Mavropanos single-handedly kept their side in the match against Aston Villa, with supporters suggesting the scoreline flatters West Ham and that Villa should have won by a far greater margin without his exceptional defensive performance. The consensus is stark—Mavropanos was the difference between a heavy defeat and a narrow one, with many suggesting he's finally delivering after a previously underwhelming spell in English football.
Spurs and West Ham's Defensive Disaster
Fans are brutally dissecting a match between Tottenham and West Ham, with both sets of supporters agreeing their defensive performances were embarrassingly poor, whilst some rival fans are frustrated West Ham didn't capitalise on an opportunity to drag Spurs closer to relegation trouble. The consensus is damning—neither team's backline covered themselves in glory, and it's sparked debate about which defence was genuinely worse on the day.
Wan Bissaka's Defensive Collapse Sparks Fan Fury
Fans are absolutely tearing into Wan Bissaka's performance, with supporters criticising him for being out of position, getting physically beaten by opponents, and displaying shockingly poor positioning in midfield. The negativity extends to teammate Disasi as well, with the fanbase suggesting both defenders have had genuinely dreadful displays that have directly contributed to the team being vulnerable.
Keeper's Horror Show Costs Us the Corner
Fans are absolutely furious with their goalkeeper's performance during a corner, claiming he's made a catastrophic error that's either cost them a goal or set up an easy chance for the opposition. The anger runs deep—there's also criticism of the defending setup and the corner delivery itself, but the shot-stopper is bearing the brunt of the blame for what supporters see as basic, unforgivable mistakes.
Aston Villa Fans Share Celebratory Reactions Online
Fans are expressing enthusiasm and support for Aston Villa and manager Unai Emery through mostly non-verbal reactions—emojis, GIFs, and brief expressions of approval. The discussion is light-hearted and celebratory in tone, with supporters sharing their happiness about the club without engaging in detailed tactical or match analysis.
West Ham's Inconsistency and Discipline Problem
Controversial
West Ham supporters and neutral observers are frustrated by the Hammers' inability to maintain form, with fans pointing to poor end product, defensive lapses like being caught offside repeatedly, and inconsistent performances—winning against weaker sides but collapsing after morale-boosting draws. There's also criticism directed at manager Nuno and concerns about the team's overall quality and focus this season.
Todibo Injury Forces Tactical Chaos, Fans Unhappy
West Ham fans are frustrated that manager Nuno completely overhauled the team's formation to compensate for Todibo's late injury rather than simply replacing him like-for-like, with widespread criticism that the new 4-4-2 setup left the midfield exposed and the attack unbalanced. The consensus is the side should've stuck with what's been working instead of experimenting with personnel and shape changes that ultimately backfired.
Forest's Dominant Display Divides Fan Sentiment
Nottingham Forest have put on a commanding attacking performance, scoring multiple goals and looking likely to add more, with supporters acknowledging the result whilst showing mixed reactions about what it means for other teams in the league. The neutral sentiment reflects fans discussing the match outcome factually rather than with strong emotional investment, though there's underlying acknowledgement that Forest's victory could have consequences for rivals like West Ham.
Forest's Escape Threatens Rivals' Survival Dreams
Emerging
Fans are locked in a desperate battle at the bottom of the table, with Nottingham Forest's recent victory over Tottenham leaving competitors terrified they're being pulled further into the relegation mire. The conversation is dominated by anxiety over goal difference and the sinking realisation that time is running out to claw back points on Forest and their rivals.
The Rogers Paradox — Defence Destroyer or Liability?
Controversial
Fans are divided on midfielder Rogers's performance, with many frustrated that his presence creates defensive vulnerabilities despite his work rate and physicality forcing manager Emery to keep him on the pitch. The debate hinges on whether his ability to cover ground and drive forward when given space outweighs the tactical problems he seems to cause when deployed alongside other attacking midfielders.
Survival Battle Hinges on Key Fixtures Ahead
Fans are analysing their team's relegation fight after a defeat, calculating that they need maximum points from upcoming matches against Wolves, Everton, and Leeds to avoid the drop, while taking heart that rivals Tottenham are dropping points against lower-placed opposition. The discussion centres on the mathematical reality of their position—just one point behind Spurs but needing a strong run to secure safety before the final day.
Mav Carrying The Team Single-Handedly
Controversial
Fans are unanimously praising one player's exceptional defensive performance whilst the rest of the squad underwhelms, with supporters arguing the team would be losing heavily without his heroic display. There's genuine concern about squad depth and an implicit recognition that one player's brilliance is masking serious problems elsewhere on the pitch.
Fans Desperate For Second-Half Improvement
Controversial
Supporters are frustrated with a sluggish first-half performance and are bracing for defeat, though some cling to the hope that a tactical adjustment and show of character might salvage something from the match. The overriding sentiment is one of cautious defiance mixed with resignation — they want their team to fight back, but aren't holding their breath.
A Team In Crisis Needs Emergency Action
Fans are expressing deep frustration with their team's woeful defensive performance and overall lack of intensity, insisting players must wake up immediately before it's too late. There's a palpable sense that the squad has become irrelevant and are throwing away a crucial opportunity against opponents who are visibly rattled.
Confusion Over Mystery Player's Identity
Fans are genuinely baffled about who "Luca Deenie" actually is, with most suspecting it's either a misspelling of Lucas Digne or some other player entirely. The only substantive discussion centres on Digne's defensive prowess at set pieces, particularly his exceptional ability to deal with headers at the far post.
AWB's Defensive Catastrophe Demands Immediate Change
Emerging
Fans are absolutely tearing into Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a genuinely dreadful defensive display, where he's failing to track his man, committing recklessly, and proving completely ineffective at the one job he's supposed to do — get him off at half-time and bring on KWP is the consensus cry.

"More importantly, Spurs lost."
The bookies have us even with Spurs right now. So they are sinking and we, despite today's result are rising.
It could be much worse....
I believe.
Would much rather have forest lose. Spurs will probably change manager and get a bounce.
Either way, we should have put in a better performance but Villa were absolutely on it today. We're very much still in this fight.
↳
They've had 2 new manager bounces and it hasn't helped
We should stop caring about others and getting points
↳
Doesn't matter what supporters care about, as long as the team is focused on winning.
↳
I'm 100% in this camp.
That being said Spurs have a horrible last 4 fixtures.... If we can somehow get above them before the final 4 games it'll be a real dogfight.
↳
I will care about their ranking and points at GD38. They might be in trouble but we need to get points regardless
↳
Absolutely. 100% but after a tough game like today it's important we're still in the hunt.
Win the next game and today will be a blip. \^\_\^
↳
Agreed to an extent, but the confidence damage that game will have done to them is insane
↳
Unfortunately dissipated somewhat by the 3-week break (and presumably their next manager arriving).
"I hope the PL picks apart their squad if they go down. Although, is there anyone we'd want? "
"I hope the PL picks apart their squad if they go down. Although, is there anyone we'd want? "
Who they taking?
I think our DOF should be lowball offering for players right now. Leak everyone one to the papers,
“Villa have offered a packet of Hula Hoops for Bergvall. Spurs are not entertaining the offer and at it is disrespectful. Villa expected to follow up with a Twix as an added incentive”
You’d have to take that lad the quick af Dutch centre back tbh.
We'll give em £3m + Bailey for Bergvall
↳
Does that mean 30 million without Bailey?
Bergvall for £3m + Lewis Dobbin
They've got a lot of good players that would look better in a different environment. Can't underplay confidence etc
Unai was trying very hard to sign danso before spurs got him
Maybe unai could improve him, but he doesnt look great.
Bergvall, Gray. I think unai would back himself to get something out of odebert, but hed cost a lot
Archie Gray
↳
Hell yes, the experience and versatility he has at such a young age is impressive. He’s very neat and tidy and would only improve under Unai.
Him and Bergvall would be the only ones I’d go for.
"Embarassing stuff hammers, and I don't even watch the premier league, just dreadful. Y'all are killing the excitement of the season"

Barca fan, haven't you got some refs to pay? Get fucked
↳
Do better, be better

↳
It's the banter of the century, and you are bottling it for us all. Lock in
↳
"Banter of the century" bruh you are actually pathetic lmfao
↳
Bury yourself
↳
Do you see the irony here? With your team relegating itself?
↳
Must hurt being the bitch of Real Madrid all the time, it's ok. I forgive you for not understand football
↳
Bad mood I guess
↳
I suspect you think you're rage baiting me here, but I'm watching my team lose so I'm already there. You're just a distraction. Where are you from anyway Barca fan? Mumbai?
"Looking at the insane amount of money on the West Ham team how is it possible yous are in this position? Close to or if not more fielding a £200 million squad. Also why get rid of Moyes who won a Euro"
"Looking at the insane amount of money on the West Ham team how is it possible yous are in this position? Close to or if not more fielding a £200 million squad. Also why get rid of Moyes who won a Euro"
If you think we shouldn't be where we are based on squad value don't look at Tottenhams 😂
Just glad that Moyes didn’t get a job somewhere else and do amazing with them. Transforming a relegation candidate into a team pushing for Europe. Yeah that didn’t happen.
↳
Free to go cheer for Everton then
↳
I don’t need to cheer Everton to notice where they are in the table
↳
It's good that you remembered the time he had us in European football not the times when we were flirting with relegation and had 4 wins in 20
↳
Don't forget about our quality performances against Palace, Liverpool and Arsenal in that last season.
Football isn't won in a chequebook fella. I know you Scots aren't used to competition in the league
You think we sacked him, don't you?
Contract ended
Fuck off
"Winning 2-0 and we still have to criticise our players"
"Winning 2-0 and we still have to criticise our players"
Bailey deserves criticism though. He isn’t good enough, I don’t like that Emery keeps playing him
↳
That may be the case, it's more about the fact that people can't enjoy a winning performance and highlight the positives
↳
We can and will but I and many others are baffled at how Bailey still gets meaningful minutes for us
↳
At this point I think it's down to finances and not having other options
↳
Got a goal in the week, deserved some minutes today. Just a shame it isn't happening for him really.
↳
I thought he played well against Lille. Don’t think he’s been helped today by the game slowing down a lot compared to the first half
↳
He played about 15 minutes against Lille ffs
↳
He'd barely played 5 minutes today before people starting having a go at him
↳
And yet all the criticism was deserved
↳
Still think he played well. He’s only playing about 25 minutes today.

Outside of Mavropanos who was outstanding again today, Villa have a starting player better than any option we have available - in a fair few cases even a bench option that would walk into our lineup. Nothing to see here really just a routine win for a far superior team.
Having said that if Mads holds onto that shot and it remains 1-0 who knows what could have happened. Onto the next one.

I don't mind us losing to a top team, it's more about how lost we looked.
Like, Liverpool absolutely battered us in the scoreline, but I actually came away from that match feeling really positive about our performance.

Our next game in the league is huge. Wolves at home on a Friday night which, if we win, will put us back level with Forest and above Spurs who have Villa and Sunderland respectively. Also worth noting that Spurs don't play again for the best part of a month which is plenty of time for players to lose match fitness.
