Executive Summary
Following Everton's emphatic 3-0 win over Chelsea, fans are divided over individual performances, with particular focus on whether certain players—notably Chelsea's Wesley Fofana—live up to their reputations, whilst Everton supporters clash over whether their own attackers are genuinely world-class or benefiting from inconsistent defending. The neutral sentiment reflects a broader scepticism in the discussion, with fans using the match as evidence to either elevate or criticise individual player quality across both sides.

How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

Captivating Talking Points
Spending a small fortune on Gittens, Garnacho and Delap was baffling at the time, particularly with Colwill's injury. Now with Linkedin Liam at the helm it's looking like an even more diabolical decision not to shore up the defence and back the manager who, despite his faults, actually had some semblance of a system.

Everton Fans Divided as Chelsea Collapse Raises Questions
Emerging
With 89 posts revealing largely neutral sentiment around Everton's dominant 3-0 victory, supporters are torn between celebration and scepticism—some question whether this result signals genuine improvement or merely a temporary upturn in an otherwise troubling season. Meanwhile, broader league chaos, including shock results for City, Liverpool, and Tottenham, leaves fans grappling with what this gameweek actually means for their European ambitions.
Chelsea Fans Turn on Fofana After Everton Demolition
Chelsea supporters have zeroed in on Wesley Fofana's defensive performance as the primary culprit behind their side's humiliating 3-0 defeat at Everton, with 292 posts criticising his positioning, awareness, and seemingly indifferent body language throughout the match. The negative discourse centres on Fofana's failure to track runners and intercept passes, with fans questioning why he continues to receive regular playing time when alternatives sit unused on the bench.
Fans Puzzled Over "Respecting the Ball" Confusion
Everton and Chelsea supporters are locked in a largely baffled discussion about what "respecting the ball" actually means after the 3-0 result, with some using it as shorthand for defensive lapses whilst others openly question whether the phrase is even legitimate football terminology. The neutral sentiment reflects genuine confusion rather than consensus — fans are genuinely unsure if this is tactical analysis or just internet nonsense.
Everton's Demolition of Chelsea Leaves Fans Speechless
Controversial
With 406 posts yet minimal substantive discussion, Everton supporters are simply basking in a dominant 3-0 victory over Chelsea whilst Chelsea fans appear largely absent or shell-shocked by the scoreline. Chelsea Fans Divided Over Lavia's True Midfield Impact
Emerging Controversial
Chelsea supporters are split on midfielder Romeo Lavia's actual quality, with some defending his potential and tactical fit whilst others criticise his defensive positioning, lack of creative incisiveness, and repeated injury setbacks since his arrival. The debate hinges on whether Lavia's weaknesses—poor off-the-ball movement, limited through-ball vision, and inability to shield the defence—are being masked by Chelsea's broader tactical issues or whether he's genuinely not the midfielder the club needs him to be.
Chelsea Fans Compare Rosenior to Failed Potter Era

The discussion centres on the Argentine's failure to influence the match despite Chelsea's investment in attacking reinforcements.
Chelsea Fans Defend Estevao From Thumbnail Blame
Emerging Controversial
Chelsea supporters are angry that the club's social media team featured Pedro Neto (Estevao) in the thumbnail for highlight content from their humiliating 3-0 defeat to Everton, arguing he was one of the few bright spots and doesn't deserve association with the defensive collapse. Fans are demanding the focus shift to the actual culprits — the defenders and goalkeeper — rather than dragging their most promising young talent through the embarrassment.
Chelsea Fans Dissect Defensive Collapse in Everton Rout
Emerging
Chelsea supporters are furious about a leaky midfield and negligent defending that allowed Everton to run riot in a 3-0 defeat, with fans pointing to poor work-rate from wingers failing to track back and a broader pattern of defensive vulnerability that's seen them concede 12 goals in under two weeks. The frustration is amplified by Chelsea's inability to convert possession into results, with one fan highlighting the futility of dominating the ball (65% control) whilst losing convincingly.

Emerging
Chelsea supporters are venting their frustration at manager Liam Isma following a devastating 3-0 defeat to Everton, with the overwhelming consensus being that he lacks tactical nous, motivation, and a plan B. Chelsea Fans Question Maresca Sacking After Heavy Defeat

Following Chelsea's embarrassing 3-0 loss to Everton, Chelsea supporters have launched a scathing critique of midfielder Enzo Fernández, with many questioning his defensive capabilities and suggesting he's become a liability in the midfield. Chelsea supporters are heavily criticising Pedro Neto's contribution during the 3-0 defeat at Everton, with particular frustration aimed at his ineffectiveness for the first hour of the match and questions about his tactical positioning. Chelsea supporters are in meltdown over the club's centre-back crisis following a 3-0 demolition at Everton, with fans calling for a complete defensive rebuild—selling multiple CBs, bringing in experienced replacements, and questioning whether the club's current defensive options are fundamentally broken. Emerging
Chelsea supporters are reacting with shock and dark humour to their side's catastrophic 3-0 defeat at Everton, with the fanbase oscillating between laughter and despair at how comprehensively they were outplayed. The overwhelming tone across posts is one of resigned amusement—fans processing a genuinely embarrassing result through comedy rather than serious tactical analysis.
Chelsea Fans Cry Foul Over Referee Decisions in Everton Defeat
Emerging
Chelsea supporters are livid about what they perceive as inconsistent officiating and missed VAR interventions during their 3-0 thrashing at Everton, particularly citing a controversial incident involving a potential penalty and a dubious yellow card for Garnacho. Chelsea's Collapse Reshapes Top Four Race Entirely

"Some of the players are absolutely useless like Delap that don’t even run. "
Delap is Ass! He should be release from the Squad!
Delap comes on with 5 min left every game and you’re blaming him. Embarrassing
he can generate a profit
I think he tries to run, but he runs like a two left footed 12 year old who wants to use his right foot unfortunately. The intention is there but the motor skills never developed in conjunction
Cole Palmer is useful but also doesnt run. This is just a shite team put together. Sell anyone who wants to leave - outside Estavao. Build around him.
Estevao is overrated. He should go as well.
This is a joke right?
No, what makes you think that? I’d rather sell Estevao for mega money and nurture someone like Delap. He’ll be one of the best strikers in the world in 5 years with proper coaching.
What do you see in delap? Genuinely curious
I see effort and impressive ball-striking ability. He has all the ingredients to become one of the best strikers in the modern era. I’d rather build around him than Estevao who I think is the next Savinho in all honesty. +

Sounds perfect 💯 +
Lmaoo this is exactly how the career gurus are on LinkedIn. Comes in calling everyone world class, shaking journalist hands. He faked it till he made it. No tactical nuance, no experience in the UCL. We hired an intern to be the CEO basically. Next manager will be AI. BlueCo has ruined us.
>soundbites that sound impressive to very dumb people but in reality completely clueless He’s the footballer-version of Joe Rogan!
I’m failing to understand what people think “this project” is. Do people think the SDs/owners purposely want us to lose?
They want us to become a profitable mid table club a la Brighton. They say it constantly
I know the quote you're referencing, but I think you're taking it too much at face value with all due respect.
The project is a failure. The problem with using words like project is you are perpetually 3 years away. At one point or another, there have to be results and achievements. If you’re always 2 years from being 3 years away what do you call that? Can you really have a project without milestones, accountability and clarity? Goal posts are constantly being moved, this is just failure, but their ego prevents them from admitting it.
i don’t think it’s that they do, but they are looking at this in a very pragmatic, profit-over-everything business sense that doesn’t necessarily translate to football. as in, it *is* a business but to have it working as a fluid football business is much different than running, say, a successful baseball organization, tech startup, or investment firm.
Based on your post, I’m interested in what you think it is?
I’m not sure. But they surely can’t be trying to make us as bad as possible. What would be the benefit of that? Make us bad so that our valuation as a club decreases so that they can sell us at a loss? That makes no sense. If anything, this is all down to incompetence rather than malicious intent
"The transformation from Moyes in a small period of a year is insane"
Yep. West Ham fans looking on at what Moyes has achieved and crying.
Well done moyes +
Good manager +
@JCSX.007I reckon they will get away with it though which is a shame.
@bushmonster1702 Get away with what? Mutually agreeing to not renew his contract a few years ago?
@JCSX.007 As good as the high points under Moyes were, when Irvine left and his entire backroom staff had eventually left too, it was he who laid the groundwork for subsequent relegation battles.
@JCSX.007 bloody hell mate, time to change the record!
Still shiite
Moyes is magic ❤ +
As a United fan, I always rated Moyes. To this day I’m still gutted my club didn’t give him more time.
"I liked Liam but he’s lost his mind. Guy is washed. He epitomises the direction the club is going. Trash"
How is he washed? You can’t be a has-been if you never were anything to begin with.
Can’t be washed if you weren’t good to begin with. Trusting Liam at the helm is like throwing a kid who can’t swim into the deep end.
Washed means was good once but no longer is
You don’t know what washed means
Guy is not washed, he's just in a position HE NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN. He has literally accomplished nothing and is now running a team that SHOULD have Champions League aspirations year in and year out. Instead we're poaching from the Championship.
They are trying to do with coaches what they are trying to do with players, find some diamond in the rough that is the next Pep but no one saw it coming. It’s like a 1000:1 shot and they just keep taking that shot with these nobodies hoping they will rise to the challenge. Oh but also not want any ownership or influence at all. Just a brilliant coach who is also a yes man. Basically a unicorn. In that it doesn’t exist and this club will be finished far before they find anyone even decent. Oh and the minute they do land someone good they will have their head turned for a better club that will give them the ownership they deserve. It’s absolutely brain dead. They’ll never admit they got it totally wrong though.
That has been the case with every manager under the new ownership. The difference today was a young manager out of his depth Vs a seasoned manager who knows how to get results. Our owners are just too egotistical to accept that the solution to our problems is a world class manager that doesn't take shit from them and knows how to get us over the line. No young manager will solve our problems.
Tell that to Kompany
Kompany at least accomplished something as a player. None of our managers recently can even say that much
That's not the job though lol
"“Out of no where they score” did we watch the same game? We could barely lay a glove on them, he looks so lost "
He said that because he was probably doodling in his notebook at the time
They scored because we keep playing a high line with zero pressure on the opposition. We've conceded this way 3 games in a row. What the fuck is he on about. It's because of how we're set up
Yeah, he’s looking clueless and we aren’t playing well so far off competing I just can’t see how he turns this around. I’m not a sack the manager type, but I can’t see how this improves
I was literally screaming at my tv from the 3rd minute. (Because I turned it on 3 minutes late)
Yeah, we could've easily conceded 2 or 3 before that goal. For him to come out and say that is just bizarre
Absolutely. We were so bad at the start (and throughout), I could see the first goal coming a mile away.
He's just shell shocked that the Everton players pass the ball forwards. It does seem like they score "out of nowhere" if you expect them to pass backwards and endlessly recycle the ball in their own third.
“I have never seen such tactics before, truly revolutionary” +
Fofana looked shaky the entire game. They had a good moment, a KDH not pressed making a killer pass, Beto ran easily by Fofana and scored. It was not out of nowhere. They constructed that goal. And our defense if full of holes.
You spelled “shitty” wrong.

People will be going on how shite Chelsea is (I mean, they are) but well done for our boys to finally step up at home. UTFT

I will forever blame that boy Vladimir Putin for that unnecessary war and the UK gov for that unnecessary sanction

> It’s astounding that any club saw the absolute shit Garnacho was serving up in a United shirt and thought ‘yes, some of that please.’ They got fooled by the “everyone improves when they leave United” memes.

No need to punish Chelsea for cheating, they're absolutely awful.

As a neutral, watching Estevao come on, and look like the only Chelsea players that has any lifeblood in him, making runs, making plays, making decent passes but when his passes maybe dont find someone (still a good pass) and the likes of Garnacho are out there on the wing throw…

Rosenior might genuinely be the worst manager of the Clearlake era so far, but it starts at the top. Fuck Clearlake.

It has to be said, this is our 4th loss in a row. In the last 10 games against top flight opponents we’ve won two and lost 6. One of those wins was wolves. Something has to be done, and it’s not just sacking Rosenior. There needs to be fundamental change at every level, player,…

Never thought it would happen again but massive 22/23 vibes now. Manager nowhere near good enough, wingers useless (bar estevao), defence is shocking, keeper same. Thank you Clearlake for this mess. I genuinely can't believe what they've done to this club
