How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

I think the ref and sky commentator listen to each other live during the game through a secret mic and ensure that they are insync of the decision / play whether right or wrong - hence we keep on feeling gaslighted
@SpursOfficial Literally every single thing going wrong. Richarlison rolls the ball at their keeper when he should’ve scored or at a minimum properly tested him. One minute later huge deflection goal and then Romero injured.
Ultimately though blame lies with the players. No heart, disgraceful.
Do yourself a favor and go watch the replay. Until you actually do that, your opinion is not valid

Xavi Simons is the ONLY creative player who's capable of moving the ball up the pitch and drawing fouls!

Fans Praise Kinsky's Resilient Display
Emerging
Controversial
Supporters from both sides focused overwhelmingly on goalkeeper Kinsky's solid performance and mental resilience after a difficult period, with many praising his assured display and key saves throughout the match. The discussion largely sidestepped the controversial VAR incident and yellow card accumulation to centre on the stopper's redemptive showing as a positive takeaway from the goalless draw.
Tottenham Relegation Fears Dominate Post-Match Discussion
Emerging
Controversial

Emerging
Fans are criticising how Tottenham's goalkeeper was allowed to continue playing after suffering a significant head injury that required an eight-to-ten minute stoppage and multiple bandage changes to stem bleeding. Tottenham Fans Divided Over Udogie's Disastrous Display

Spurs Fans Demand Xavi Simons Playing Time
Emerging

Supporters are divided in their assessment of Richarlison's display, with some criticising his tendency to complain and lose possession, whilst others highlight his previous quality against weaker sides like Burnley. Fans Frustrated With Broadcast Coverage and Access
Emerging

The discussion reveals deeper discontent with Sky Sports' dominance and the lack of accessible match coverage for ordinary fans.
Romero Yellow Card Sparks Ref Inconsistency Fury
Fans across both sides have erupted over what they perceive as wildly inconsistent refereeing, with Cristian Romero's early yellow card becoming the flashpoint—supporters arguing the defender was harshly punished whilst Brian Brobbey escaped without adequate punishment for more serious fouls, and accusing the referee of applying a double standard throughout the match. Fans Savage Porro's Wayward Crossing Display
Emerging
Tottenham supporters and neutrals are relentlessly mocking Pedro Porro's abysmal crossing performance during the Sunderland draw, with fans joking his delivery was so poor it belonged in orbit rather than the opposition box. Emerging
Fans are locked in debate over a disallowed penalty decision that proved pivotal in this goalless stalemate, with supporters split on whether the VAR intervention was correct. Spurs Fans Question Solanke's 60 Million Pound Impact
Emerging
Tottenham supporters are heavily criticising Dominic Solanke's performance and overall contribution since his big-money move, with fans expressing frustration that he's failing to justify his price tag and isn't receiving adequate service from midfield. The disconnect between Richarlison, Solanke, and the attacking midfielders has become a focal point of concern, with supporters questioning whether his Bournemouth form was merely a one-off anomaly rather than sustainable quality.
Tottenham Fans Despair at Systemic Team Collapse

VAR Disallows Penalty as Diving Debate Erupts
Fans are locked in heated debate over a disallowed penalty decision involving Randal Kolo Muani, with Tottenham supporters insisting it was a clear foul whilst Sunderland fans accuse the French forward of diving and question whether he's become a serial cheat. VAR Chaos as Controversial Disallowed Penalty Sparks Fury

The frustration stems from the inconsistency of the decision-making in the moment.
Tottenham Fans Blame Players as Championship Talk Escalates
Emerging
With Spurs drawing a goalless match against struggling Sunderland, supporters are venting frustration at persistent underperformance across multiple managerial regimes, arguing the playing squad itself is fundamentally flawed rather than any individual manager. The negativity has reached a point where some are openly jesting about inevitable demotion, whilst others insist their loyalty transcends the team's current trajectory towards mediocrity.
Tottenham Fans Debate Xavi Simons' Bench Role
Emerging
Spurs supporters are split on manager selection after the defeat, with particular frustration that Xavi Simons was only brought on late in the game when he could have started ahead of Gallagher in midfield. The wider debate centres on whether young players like Bergvall and Simons are being deployed correctly, with fans questioning whether the club's attacking options are being optimised.
Tottenham Fans Fear Relegation Battle Looms
Emerging
After Spurs' goalless draw with struggling Sunderland, supporters have descended into dark humour about their side's desperate league position, with repeated predictions that the club is heading for the drop. Sunderland Fans Rue Missed Chances in Goalless Draw
Emerging
Supporters are frustrated that Sunderland failed to capitalise on attacking opportunities against a struggling Tottenham side, with the conversation centring on how the home team lacked the cutting edge to turn dominance into points. The negative sentiment reflects disappointment that what should have been a winnable match slipped away, leaving fans questioning their team's ruthlessness in front of goal.
VAR Penalty Call Divides Fans in Stalemate
Sunderland and Tottenham supporters are sharply divided over whether a disallowed penalty in the 22nd minute was the correct call, with some insisting it was a clear spot-kick whilst others defend the VAR decision as justified. The broader frustration centres on inconsistent refereeing standards across the league, with fans arguing that similar incidents are treated differently depending on which team is involved.
Fans Rage Over VAR Chaos and Set-Piece Tactics
Supporters are fuming at the VAR penalty decision and the inconsistency of how officials judge player behaviour — if they go down it's embellishment, if they stay up it's not a foul. The debate spills into frustration with poor set-piece delivery and defensive positioning during corners, with fans convinced modern football has become impossible to officiate fairly.
Sunderland and Spurs Fans Divided on Controversial Refereeing Display
Emerging
Fans are split on the official's performance in the goalless draw, with the VAR decision to disallow a penalty and a string of yellow cards sparking fierce debate about whether the referee favoured one side or made a fair set of calls. The negativity centres on frustration with the officiating quality rather than any single match-deciding moment, reflecting broader fan irritation with Premier League refereeing standards.
Controversial Red Card Dominates Sunderland-Tottenham Debate
Emerging
Fans are furious that a Tottenham player remained on the pitch despite what many perceived as a dangerous challenge earlier in the match, only to eventually receive a red card that they argue should have come sooner. The discussion centres on inconsistent refereeing and the referee's failure to act decisively when the player first posed a threat, leading to frustration across both sets of supporters.
Sunderland and Tottenham Fans Baffled by Inconsistent Foul Calls
Fans are completely divided and utterly bewildered over whether a specific challenge constitutes a foul, with the discussion exposing deep frustration at the inconsistency of refereeing decisions throughout the match. Multiple supporters are questioning whether referees even know what the rulebook says anymore, with some sarcastically suggesting that foul calls depend entirely on which official is making them rather than any clear, consistent interpretation of the laws.
Fans Baffled by Eleven Minutes of Added Time
Emerging
Sunderland and Tottenham supporters were left scratching their heads after the referee awarded eleven minutes of injury time at the end of the match, with fans questioning what on earth happened during the second half to justify such an extensive stoppage. The prevailing sentiment was one of disbelief and dark humour, as viewers questioned whether the additional time truly reflected the actual incidents on the pitch.
Spurs Fans Blame Referees for Relegation Battle
Tottenham supporters are convinced the PGMOL is actively working against them, pointing to controversial VAR decisions and inconsistent officiating as deliberate interference designed to see the club go down. The discussion splits between fans convinced there's systemic bias and others dismissing it as conspiracy thinking, though even sceptics acknowledge Spurs have faced rough treatment from referees in recent weeks.
Spurs Fans Dissect Summer Transfers After Defeat

Tottenham Fans Divided Over Player's Emotional Response
Emerging
Spurs supporters are debating whether it's appropriate to mock or banter a player who was visibly emotional during their defeat, with some defending the player's feelings whilst others argue the reaction is oversensitive. Fans Fuming Over Controversial Deflected Goal Decision
Sunderland and Tottenham supporters are absolutely seething about the legitimacy of Mukiele's winning goal, with the majority arguing it was a brutal deflection rather than a clean finish—essentially questioning whether the ball should have counted at all. The discourse reveals deep frustration with VAR's failure to intervene on what fans perceive as a dubious goal that decided a tightly contested match.
Sunderland and Spurs Fans React to Chaotic Draw

Spurs Fans Face Championship Relegation Jokes
After Tottenham's poor performance, supporters are grimly joking that the club's impressive new stadium will be their only achievement next season, with rival fans sarcastically suggesting they'll compete in the Championship. Lmao just give the corner that Kolo Muani wanted anyway.
How do we get fucked over, even when VAR does the right thing"

"What are VAR doing? Referee's explanation is that O'Nien plays the ball, correct.
We just going to ignore the fact he only is able to do that because Alderete has fouled Muani BEFORE that? Genuinely a terrible decision. "
REDDIT
"I mean, this is why VAR exists. Objectively it should be easy to see why it would have looked like O'Nien's challenge wiped out Kolo Muani from the referee's position, so he gave a penalty. With the review he can see Kolo Muani is going down before that challenge happens, so there's no foul and the decision is overturned.
It's the kind of thing people should get upset about if VAR doesn't overturn it, not incensed by the referee originally giving it and then changing his mind after seeing it clearly."

"One thing that really irks me with how commentary call Cuti reckless or has disciplinary issues - Hume picked up his 9th yellow for the season, same as Cuti, but not a single word on him collecting as many. "
REDDIT
"Because no one gives a shit about hume and everyone hates tottenham and wants them relegated"
REDDIT
"Brobbey could easily match Cuti’s yellow record for the season and then some with what he’s been doing today "
REDDIT
"Did he even get yellow? How is it not a red card? Pushing players into each other so they crash is the most dangerous thing to do on a football pitch"
REDDIT
"Happens so often. Refs become more lenient if a player if already on a yellow. "

"What part of that was a good game the fact ed edd and eddy were on yellow cards by end of first half? Romero got karma too for being a idiot for 5 years."
"How many points do you get for that?"
"@Alain-i5t6b did I say we got any points?"
"Good they deserve i've supported this club since 1990. I'm telling you this club is totally done under E.N.I.C the owner and board of directors are to blame for the mess this sham of a club is in. They deserve to go down our fans do not deserve this at all. I hope it teaches lewis a lesson. And if the fans think it's hard to stay up in the premier league wait till they start playing in the championship. It's a mini premier league if you don't spend money to compete you won't get promotion to the premier league. A team with a 1 billion pound stadium playing championship football. It's a joke who ever said tottenham are an elite top six club need their head examined. Tottenham have never been a top six club. They had their success with poch and winning the europa league has changed nothing. This club is done it's an embarrassment. I'm done with them for good the fans deserve better!"
"Spurs managing to exceed expectations on how bad they are this season.
All Spurs fans blamed their position last season on injuries. Well one season can be considered a blip but two in a row is a pattern. They were only never in a relegation battle last season because the three teams that came up were so bad they were down the bottom all season and never looked like getting enough points to even potentially stay up."
"The best he did was signing for 5 years and he will get sacked after 1 year max ...and the remaining millions will be paid out."

"Tottenham’s relegation chances are like a reverse-Leicester’s 2015-16 title win. I *still* don’t think it’s going to happen, but I’m believing it more with each passing game"
Leicester was way more unlikely, but this is still a pretty big story. And both times, the rest of the league were rooting against Spurs.
My moment of "they are actually going to do this" for Leicester was when harry kane posted that picture of a lion with a bloody mouth before the battle of the bridge.
I dont know what that could be in this case. Maddison posting it before they play wolves away? Although im not sure you want madders getting involved in a relegation battle after his effort when at Leicester
Same 12th man sloping too.
I made a post back on match week 17 asking if Spurs may end up finding themselves in a relegation scrap: https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/bj9FWqOeM2
It wasn’t really a banter post, I had just been watching their games and they weren’t passing the eye test at all, every match even back then they looked absolutely terrible even when they scraped a draw.
I just used this exact parallel to my group chat without seeing it. Spooky. There are truly no original thoughts.
The reverse of Leicester 2015-16 is Leicester 25-26. They're doing a Tottenham but in league lower.
Man I thought the exact same last week
The top 2 from that season are (probably) getting relegated this year.
↳
Hey man, I know we're not in the best form right now but I don't think we're getting relegated.
I already believe it's gonna happen! Spurs just... don't have the mentality of a relegation dogfight!

Why is the time zone UTC?
Edit: just realised that I’ve got a vpn on saying that I’m in Australia. Is that why?
↳
Mods can change it to whatever they want
Developer as well. Your broadcast coverage for USA doesn’t include USA network, Telemundo etc
Can the channels be ordered in the country the game is playing. I.e premier league show UK at top of list.
↳
On it 💪
Also, one more small suggestion: the teamsheet names are only lifting the last part of a player's surname which depending on culture may not be their recognised surname. For example Porro is listed as Sauceda, van de Ven as Ven, etc.
Great work though. It looks good!
↳
Ooo yes, let me take that away and fix
Can we get a live thread?
↳
It will turn live once kick off happens!
Small suggestion: make the league table scrollable like the channel list is.

Never been so wound up by a co commentator in my life I don’t think. The sheer lack of trying to shield any bias was shocking. Also Brobbey is an absolute thug and I hope he has it in him to apologis"
> They’re just not good enough to win games in the premier league, it’s that simple to me. Not that much more to it
This has been our reality for two seasons now - the players are not good enough. This is, of course, a direct result of severe mismanagement of recruitment and the inevitable physical toll it placed on key players having to play through injury and then being out for what seems like forever. Management had the money, didn't use it properly and then hand-waved the possibility of being relegated after losing all our key players to injury. These last two seasons (barring the Europa miracle) have been the worst on-field product I've ever seen and I'm almost 60.
That’s another twist of the knife. Not only did the team get the star manager they’d hoped for, but the players looked like they tried and STILL came up short
He’s always awful. He always plays Mr Contrary.
Agreed. The co-commentator for NBC was horrid. On the Brobby push they said "they don't condone that physicality" and in the same breath never said the words "yellow" or "card".
This feels like a nail kind of moment, but I'm still holding onto hope that it's not over.
Crazy how Ange won Europa league and fifth in his first season, with players who aren’t premier league level, even with his injuries last season. Seems a good manager to win Europa league with the back ups to players who suck so bad. Signed the players he wanted too, only after sacking him though.
ya’ll love calling black players “thugs” huh?
↳
Good lord
↳
Did you even watch the match? Race has absolutely nothing to do with calling out Brobbey’s behaviour.
↳
If race has nothing to do with it, why is it that I didn’t even know who Brobbey was before reading that comment but I could tell he was black because I can’t even count how many times black players specifically have been called thugs? I’m not saying this guys racist, but acknowledge there is a conscious or unconscious racial element there.
↳
Romero gets called a thug all the time, so was Joey Barton etc etc many more I could name that are white or Hispanic etc
Purely in your head I’m sorry to tell you.
"Brobbey not being sent out should be investigated. Fucker played dirty since minute 1"
"Brobbey not being sent out should be investigated. Fucker played dirty since minute 1"
the foul on Udogie seconds before that as well.
↳
With the commentators trying to gaslight us into thinking it was a fair challenge when Micky got a yellow for the same..
↳
im sure we're now just part of the grand storyline the league built up to make things more exciting in the relegation battle because the top 4 battle has not been exciting at all.
Spurs couldve been comfortably above Leeds and not worry about relegation but they wanted us here, fighting with 4 other teams to not get relegated. This game simply proves it, and also the many games before that we never get any calls in favor.
And before people call me crazy, I watched Spurs almost every game for 10+ years, I know when we used to have the ref favors when Kane was here, or even when Ange was here because he was such a popular figure. Imagine back when Romero pulled Cucurella's hair in the penalty box and he got nothing, it even put on reply multiple times, nothing. Compare to today, VDV and Porro booked for barely doing anything.
Today later in the game, VDV got pushed to the ground and looked at the ref and got no reaction, the look on VDV face just shows that he already accepted the reality. Even the foul on Udogie right before Brobbey pushed Romero into Kinsky, nobody looked at, no replays.
From today I wont be bashing the players, I know they tried their hardest, we played better. We are simply not good enough yet to go agaisnt the system.
↳
I don't get that deep into conspiratorial stuff, although I can absolutely see how it's a plausible take at this point. Yes we've gotten screwed on numerous occasions, but that's not unique to us. We've also simply not been good enough and plagued by injuries along with shit recruitment.
↳
the owner of the PL literally said in an interview before that they try to have a new winner every few season to keep things interesting. This is not a conspiracy, its part of business.
100% and the commentators on sky should also be investigated for glazing players that deserve to be off the pitch
↳
Investigate the commentators? What a delusional take. Almost as bad as the guy on r/tottenham saying that Spurs should sue PGMOL at the end of the season
↳
Get a grip. They might not be right but it’s just their opinion you mug.
↳
Their opinion always being the same amount as the something, you mug!
↳
I KNOW. It was driving me mad. Then as Romero was crying they said “it’s probably just a dead leg, he’ll be alright”.
