How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

@SunderlandAFC Diarra has thrown away this game for our whole team, they should be absolutely raging at him
I might of misread this stat but I don’t think that’s correct, Rooney did it in 11 consecutive seasons of scoring more than 10+ and Aguero did it for 9 seasons
Rooney only scored 6 goals in 02/03.
This for players that have scored double digits every single season they’ve been in the league
Thought it was Ollie’s at first then on the replay thought it was an own goal then on the second replay confirmed I was originally correct.

@AVFCOfficial @0neAstonVilla @emartinez TBF it was a great save…and wrong decision from Diarra.
@lord_barrold @SunderlandAFC In the end we didn’t deserve anything out of that particular game. Wrong team selection from the start, half the team were shite and we’d have been super lucky if we got anything at all from it at all.
@SunderlandAFC Might just be me but what does Diarra actually offer? Should have took him off and left Rigg on. He can’t pass the ball he’s constantly missing his man or hitting it far too hard does this every game
@jason_connolly @AVFCOfficial Oh sancho takes almost all the blame but it just happens far too often that something goes slightly wrong in a game of importance and we capitulate. It’s why I still don’t think we’ll win the Europa league even though on paper we should

What a mad game. Cruising for most of the second half. Should have got a 4th and put the game to bed. Sancho comes on bleary eyed from staying up late playing Fortnite and almost tanks the game in 1 one minute. Diarra should have put them ahead. Then Tammy seems to break his arm to win it for us. Felt like one of our mad championship games back und…
Get Tammy a knighthood and chuck Sancho in the next shipping container to wherever
I was shitting over Barkley earlier, but fair play, he did fucking well there
And of course it doesn't happen without McGinn doing what McGinn does, that man is incredible
Holy shit. Ollie is getting the call, I'm 100% sure. Everyone starting did great apart from Maatsen who lost a few duels in the beginning and Youri who was unusually lax today but was still great.
Sancho. Satanic performance. Tammy came in clutch, Pool just scored so these 3 points were massive. UTV.
The decibel level in my house was too loud to measure. Too bad I’m probably never going to be able to see him play in real life. After this, kudos to Digne and Abraham for getting my blood pressure back under control.
Sancho better not play another minute for this team.
Now we have two wide players in him and Bailey that are completely unplayable. This better get fixed this summer.
Part of me is *slightly* annoyed by Ollie and Morgan scoring all of our goals the one week I have them *out* of my fantasy team, but hey ho
Anyone's thinking 'Thank God Digne chose to cross instead of passing to Sancho'?
Can't stop him scoring. The bloke is just fucking gagging to have a front row seat to watch Harry Kane play every second.
Sancho dead to Unai now. Can we play Elliot for rest of the season and not trigger the buy clause?

Villa Edge Sunderland in Chaotic Goalfest Thriller
Emerging
Controversial
Aston Villa and Sunderland served up an eight-goal spectacle that swung wildly in Villa's favour before Abraham's dramatic late winner sparked 828 posts of mixed reactions, with supporters fixated on defensive lapses, Abraham's crucial contribution, and the sheer emotional rollercoaster of a match that could have gone either way. Fans are dissecting Villa's vulnerability to crosses and questioning their defence's basic positioning, even as they celebrate securing three points in a fixture that delivered everything except a boring ninety minutes.

Aston Villa Fans Hail Dibu's Dramatic Late Save
Controversial
Villa supporters are buzzing about Emiliano Martinez's crucial one-on-one save deep into stoppage time that proved decisive in a bonkers 4-3 thriller against Sunderland, with fans debating whether it was world-class goalkeeping or a poor finish from the striker. The neutrality in sentiment reflects disagreement over how much credit belongs to Martinez's composure versus the striker's failure to capitalise when through on goal.
Villa Fans Divided Over McGinn's True Impact
Controversial
Aston Villa supporters are locked in debate about John McGinn's importance to their team, with most praising him as absolutely world class and integral to their performances, whilst a smaller faction questions whether his actual on-pitch contributions justify the hero worship. The discussion flares up after Villa's dramatic 4-3 win, with fans genuinely concerned that substituting McGinn in the closing stages directly caused their near-collapse against Sunderland.
Villa Fans Celebrate Champions League Qualification Surge
Emerging
Aston Villa supporters are buzzing about their commanding 10-point lead over sixth place with five games remaining, effectively securing Champions League football and freeing them to focus on Europa League success. Rooney only scored 6 goals in 02/03.
This for players that have scored double digits every single season they’ve been in the league
▲ 19
I might of misread this stat but I don’t think that’s correct, Rooney did it in 11 consecutive seasons of scoring more than 10+ and Aguero did it for 9 seasons

We hate spurs because of their fans whinging about Cash, they scumbag palhinha putting Kamara out for the season and generally they think they're a bigger team than they are. Also they're a London club which means they get easy tourism money.
We can beat Forest on our own merits without caring about what they're thinking about.
Killing a big 6 team is a massive advantage to us in the long term
↳
This. We need Spurs and Chelsea to continually shit the bed so we can become a regular in Europe and at the top end
Forest will be facing pressure either way I would think given their difficult schedule remaining and Tottenham’s relatively easy one. Forest are at sunderland, Chelsea, and Man U, home against Newcastle and Bournemouth. Can’t imagine they’ll be favored in any of those
I think it’s a win-win. I think we’ll secure UCL, and I also think we stand a good chance of beating NCFC in Europa. They do worry me a bit, and I agree them losing would benefit us specifically, but any club in the “big 6” needs some reckoning now and then for the sake of football
I want forest to lose and Spurs to go down.
Sure, but we should have the quality to beat then over two legs anyway, and I want Spurs to get relegated
↳
I heard that about Olympiacos and Palace over the last two seasons remind me how those played out again ....
↳
That is true regardless of whether they win today or not. The pressure is still very much on for them in the prem either way
↳
Now MGW has a hattrick thats what we want them playing their way into confidence just so we can laugh at Spurs a club we shouldn't even be caring about
"As a Villa fan it is absolutely criminal how underrated McGinn is.

Always sung his praises even when he started getting stick during the Gerrard era and start of this season at certain points.
Genuinely my favourite Villa player of all time.
↳
He's definitely up there for me.
If he can Captain Villa to the Euro League he will leave a real legacy at the club.
↳
Statue, him and Unai.
Replaced him with sancho no less lmao
↳
Tbf to Sancho, he's been pretty good for us, don't think this was necessarily the right game to give him some minutes coming back from an injury. But hindsight.
↳
I think pretty good is slightly over egging. He’s got 1 goal and 2 assists all season in all comps. That’s incredibly average.
He’s worked hard but he hasn’t had a big impact
↳
And if it wasn’t Sancho coming on it only would have been Bailey lol. Don’t think there’s a good sub for McGinn on the right atm

Bailey wouldve deadass lost us the game yea nvm sancho wasnt as bad of an option
He is an all around quality player. Unmatched work rate. Extremely physical, throws body into every challenge. He can attack, he can defend. He can lead. Any team in the prem would win more games with him on the team.
"EMI MARTINEZ, THE WORLD’S NUMBER ONE
understand the Watkins pick for MOTM but Martinez quite literally saved the game"
"EMI MARTINEZ, THE WORLD’S NUMBER ONE

Give him goal of the season for that save!
Hug huge huge save. Absolutely no right to save that. Save of the season
I think he should have done better with the second tbh, expect much better than him getting beaten from that kind of angle, but given the match winning save, I'll let him off
Massive!
i thought it was the end for us and then genius Martinez saved it!! and then Abaraham finish the game for us. crazy game, UTV!!!!!
And slipped over for their 3rd... not sure
↳
You'd never pin that goal on the keeper in a million years
↳
If anything, to shake that off and save that shot shows the measure of the lad. Gutsy performance imo.
↳
Everyone was slipping on that pitch tbf. Remember Watkins, Konsa, Barkley and Rogers all taking a tumble at points, maybe others.
↳
Defense fell completely asleep I’m not faulting him for not stopping a 1 on 1 immediately after the kick
"Sancho better not play another minute for this team.
Now we have two wide players in him and Bailey that are completely unplayable. This better get fixed this summer. "
"Sancho better not play another minute for this team.

Some people have very short memories. Sancho was playing some very good stuff for us before his injury. Yes he’s had a howler today but after Unai is finished giving him a bollocking, he’ll be back stronger.
↳
OK but only as good as yer last game.
↳
When did he actually play well for us? Just the odd moment. For that price, I’d rather have someone from the academy play.
↳
Yeah show me all of the goals he’s scored and set up since being here. He brings nothing defensively so surely he has lots of goal contributions.
Lmao battle of the liabilities, agreed
Eliott as well, for other reasons notwithstanding.
Sancho is fine against a team that are defending where he doesn't have to dribble very far or track back
No idea why he was put on in an end-to-end scrap with a physical, 2nd half team.
↳
Sancho lost the ball three times in a row ending up in two goals and an incredibly lucky save by Emi... this was an embarrassment by Sancho
↳
If you can't trust a player to come on when we're 2 goals up with ten minutes to go, what is the fucking point of them? One of the most highly paid players in this squad, and we'd have been better off playing with 10 men.
Doesn't score goals, doesn't create goals, can't be arsed to run, and nearly gave away 3 goals with 3 touches of the ball.

Let's not enjoy the fact we're winning comfortably and are playing some of our best football in months. Let's be miserable dicks instead.
I'm fully convinced some of you don't actually enjoy the sport of football.
↳
Modern football is pretty awful.
Everyone downvoting this will be back in 9 months complaining that we should have signed a striker in the summer
↳
No. Plenty have consistently defended him and understood that the issue was with creating chances.
↳
Seriously? His biggest problem is scoring chances. He needs 10 to score 1.
No pleasing some of you lot I swear
↳
They don't actually like this sport.
There's always one.
I forgot tap-ins only count as half goals when I celebrated them, my bad

As a Villa fan it is absolutely criminal how underrated McGinn is.
Absolute Villa legend, tough as woodpecker lips and just an all round quality footballer. Every team wants a McGinn.
It is absolutely no shock that when he came off it all went a bit wobbly.
