Longstaff was a class signing for £12m in todays market. He's got experience of surviving relegation battles, he's played champions league and held his own (even scoring a goal against best team in the world PSG)
Hes made over 200 appearances for a high pressure club like Newcastle, and been 7 out of 10 the whole time. Never letting anybody down.
For our fans to slate him earlier in the season was staggering to me. And doesn't speak highly of their intelligence (or lack of)
He even has a really underrated technique about him, the goals against Bournemouth and Norwich proved that. Would have scored alot from midfield had he started all season.
To have a player like him on our bench as a newly promoted side is actually insane. He'd fit right into the Everton, Brentford or Brighton teams at the drop of a hat.
