How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

Not when I’ve seen him in the team, felt like he was calm on the ball, solid if unspectacular. Weird to me, but Arteta does tend to freeze players out quickly if he feels like it

Captivating Talking Points
It will take them a season to get right they need play together and gel. Saka and Havertz formed a killer partnership before their injuries. Saka-Ode-White was fire. Arsenal don't typically play with target men, they play with false 9's no excuses but takes time to be at your fluid best. Also I sometimes think the angles make things look so much worse, we've seen these players play amazing passes…

Believer You know what, fair fucking play Arsenal, playing like champions today, excited to see how City handle Everton away on Monday. Any slip from City and I think Arsenal run away with it.

Controversial
Arsenal fans are largely praising Leandro Trossard's performance against Fulham, attributing his improved display to restored fitness and suggesting his earlier season dip was physically rather than mentally motivated. Arsenal Fans Blame April Curse After Shock Defeat
Emerging Controversial

Ben White's Defensive Struggles Fuel Arsenal Frustration
Arsenal fans are deeply concerned about centre-back Ben White's form following the 3-0 defeat, citing recurring decision-making errors and a noticeable loss of confidence that goes beyond simple skill gaps. Arsenal supporters are processing a disallowed goal in the first half (likely the Riccardo Calafiori decision at 30 minutes), with reactions ranging from frustration about the offside call to resigned acceptance and dark humour about their team's fortunes. The discussion reflects typical fan sentiment when marginal VAR decisions go against them — a mix of disappointment, sarcasm, and coping through jokes.
Arsenal Fans Divided on Madueke's Impact Against Fulham
Emerging Controversial
Supporters are sharply split over Noni Madueke's performance after he replaced Bukayo Saka in the second half of Arsenal's 3-0 victory, with some calling him a "flop" who failed to capitalise on his chance to prove his worth, whilst others defend him as adequate squad depth given his backup role. The debate hinges on whether Madueke is genuinely underperforming or simply looks poor when directly compared to in-form starters like Saka.

Controversial
Arsenal supporters are debating whether Bernd Leno deserves credit for a moment at 30 minutes when a VAR-reviewed goal was disallowed, with some joking that his head or body accidentally prevented the ball from crossing the line, whilst others mock-suggest it warrants an investigation into "match fixing." The discussion is tongue-in-cheek but highlights how fine the margins were in what became a convincing 3-0 victory.
Arsenal Fans Dismiss VAR Controversy Claims
Emerging Controversial
Arsenal supporters are dismissing what appear to be complaints about refereeing decisions and VAR calls during their comfortable victory, with fans characterising the grievances as post-match trolling from alternate accounts rather than legitimate concerns. The discussion centres on the futility of engaging with entrenched positions rather than the actual decisions themselves.
Arsenal Fans Hail Myles Midfield Breakthrough Performance
Controversial
Arsenal supporters are celebrating a standout display from midfielder Myles, who delivered a composed, controlled performance that has convinced many he deserves regular starts ahead of squad stalwarts. The consensus is overwhelmingly positive — fans believe he's proven himself capable of handling Arteta's system and could challenge for a permanent midfield role, though some critics argue he should have been trusted earlier in the season.

Emerging Controversial
Fans are crediting Eberechi Eze with a standout performance—particularly his pressing and through-ball accuracy—and arguing he should start Arsenal's remaining matches ahead of an out-of-form Martin Ødegaard, with some drawing comparisons to Mesut Özil's creative nimbleness. Controversial
Arsenal supporters are lamenting the absence of key players—particularly Jurriën Timber and Bukayo Saka—whose injuries have left the side vulnerable at the back, with Ben White's defensive performance drawing criticism despite occasional creative contributions going forward. The debate centres on whether White has declined post-injury and whether his lack of overlapping support for Saka represents a tactical regression compared to previous seasons.
Arsenal Fans Turn On Jesus After Humiliating Loss

Fans React to VAR Chaos With Silent Gifs
Emerging
Arsenal supporters responded to a disallowed goal and the match's controversial refereeing moments almost entirely through reaction gifs and memes, with minimal verbal commentary — a telling sign that the decisions left them speechless. Arteta's Rotation Gamble Pays Off in Rout
Emerging Controversial
Arsenal fans are largely defending Mikel Arteta's team selection following a dominant 3-0 victory, with many arguing that rotating the squad and resting key players during a comfortable win shows tactical maturity and protects against injuries. Fulham supporters are venting about their team's sluggish ball progression and hesitancy in the final third, with repeated criticism that players hold possession too long and fail to capitalise on promising positions before pressure builds again. The underlying frustration centres on a pattern of self-sabotage—defensive solidity followed by painfully slow transitions that invite opposition attacks rather than creating clear chances.

Emerging Controversial
Arsenal supporters are unanimously praising Viktor Gyökeres after he scored twice in the victory, with fans arguing he's proven his quality when given proper service and expressing confidence he'll fire them towards the title and Champions League. Arsenal Fans Debate Zubimendi's Rotation After Strong Display
Emerging
Arsenal supporters are actively discussing whether Martín Zubimendi has been overplayed this season, with many praising Myles Lewis-Skelly's midfield performance in his stead and suggesting manager Mikel Arteta should rotate more frequently heading into crucial fixtures. The consensus leans towards the idea that benching an exhausted Zubimendi proved effective, raising questions about tactical selection moving forward.
Arsenal Fans Call for Mosquera Over Struggling White
Emerging
Arsenal supporters are clamouring for defender Mosquera to replace Ben White at right-back, arguing that White's shaky performance during the match warrants an immediate tactical change either at half-time or for upcoming fixtures. The debate centres on White's defensive vulnerability and whether Mosquera, despite some attacking limitations, represents a more reliable option going forward.
Arsenal Fans Baffled by Nørgaard's Complete Exclusion
Emerging
Arsenal supporters are bewildered by Mikel Arteta's decision to effectively freeze Christian Nørgaard out of the squad, with fans questioning why the midfielder—previously solid at Brentford—remains completely unused despite opportunities to rotate and rest players. Arsenal's Dominant First Half Restores Fan Faith
Emerging Controversial

Arsenal's Dominant Display Leaves Fans Speechless
Emerging
Fans are reacting with shock and limited commentary to Arsenal's commanding 3-0 victory over Fulham, with most posts consisting of brief exclamations and sparse engagement rather than detailed tactical analysis. Arsenal Fans Analyse Rice's Defensive Repositioning
Emerging
Arsenal supporters are celebrating Declan Rice's performance in a dominant 3-0 win, with particular focus on his repositioned role as a deep-lying defensive midfielder sitting between the centre-backs rather than in a traditional box-to-box capacity. Referee Quiet Quitting as VAR Calls Prove Inconsistent
Emerging

Arsenal Fans Frustrated Despite Dominant 3-0 Victory
Emerging
Arsenal supporters are experiencing an unusual frustration after thrashing Fulham 3-0, with many feeling the Gunners left further goals on the pitch and should have won by a wider margin. The discussion reflects the club's title-race mentality — where a convincing win feels insufficient because every goal difference matters in the tight battle with Manchester City above them.
Fulham Fans Rage at Lukić After Defensive Collapse
Emerging
Fulham supporters are heavily criticising midfielder Saša Lukić's soft defending and lack of physical presence in a humbling 3-0 defeat, with fans repeatedly calling for his removal and contrasting his performance unfavourably with teammate Ryan Sessegnon's defensive work rate. Emerging
Arsenal fans are euphoric about a commanding 3-0 victory, with particular praise for Myles Lewis-Skelly's midfield performance, Viktor Gyökeres' clinical finishing, and Bukayo Saka's return to dangerous form — though some frustration lingers over unused substitutes like Christian Nørgaard and Gabriel Jesus's continued struggles to justify his minutes. Arsenal Fans Debate Title Fate After Win
Emerging

The discussion centres on Arsenal's remaining fixtures being easier than City's, and whether a three-point lead with games in hand is genuinely insurmountable or just another opportunity to bottle it.
Lukić Escape Sparks Referee Controversy Debate
Emerging
Fans are furious that Saša Lukić avoided a second yellow card for what they believe was a clear-cut foul in the second half, with many arguing the non-decision could prove decisive if Arsenal and Manchester City end the season level on points. Emerging
Arsenal supporters are tearing into defender Ben White's performance during the 3-0 defeat, criticising his slow passing, lack of acceleration, and generally poor decision-making throughout the match. The consensus is brutal: fans are questioning whether he should even be in the squad given his current run of inconsistent form.

"[Manager makes changes that have huge positive impact on the team.] This sub: How can I turn this into a stick with which to beat the manager? "
Fucking ridiculous whiny behaviour isn't it.
Because it could’ve happened a lot sooner obviously, that’s where the criticism is
That’s not obvious at all. For all we know the staff have been slowly, carefully planning this transition all season, and it’s only now that they’re starting to feel confident in his ability to do it. Throw a player into the fire too soon and it can set both him and the team back.
This. I hate a portion of these fans
Na im sorry this is silly. 90 percent whole fan base wanted this guy to play more in midfield. For the entire season. Rice and Zubi have played a dangerous amount of minutes. This is has cost us points in my opinion. The whole fan base is crying over the minutes played In took him 34 games to figure out something that a non trained fan base figured out on day 1. If we don't win the league Mikel has a lot to answer for.
Just because it worked today doesn’t mean it would’ve worked all season. I trust the coaching staff with the development of an 18yo academy kid more than the sweaty, wheezing braintrust of r/gunners
We can be happy and critical of the manager at the same time, lol. Toxic positivity is just as bad as the mindless negativity in the match-threads. To be honest, it's definitely on the manager to wait this long to try this when we saw glimpses of his ball-carrying ability and physicality all season last year. To refuse to start anyone but Zubimendi as our 6 this season, even when on poor form in the league, definitely on the manager especially considering MLS was there the entire time.
It’s not toxic positivity to believe that Mikel Arteta and his staff better understand how and when to integrate a teenager into our midfield than people on this sub do
Wanting to just be happy after a 3-0 win isn’t toxic positivity. +
Calling out a post that's just barely critical of the manager for "negativity" is definitely toxic positivity.
"Prime Saka performance. White just brings the best out of him S/o Gyokeres Myles, my boy great job! All of these while #1 Arteta hater watches from his box seat. INJECT!!"
People have been saying to try Myles in midfield since forever, part of it to get Zubimendi some rest, and the manager has only now discovered it lol
just Arteta things. Mega stubborn light bulb enjoyer
Don't forget, Trossard's best half for around 7 months now. Didn't think he had it in him anymore
Was MLS the missing ingredient? It’s like we are a completely different team today.
He was never a Left Back.
exactly - Arteta is great coach but he is also mega stubborn. the moment he lets MLS play his position we see great results  +
Myles is adding a bit more energy in the midfield that we've been lacking for a while cause both Zubi and Rice are being run to the ground. Hopefully he plays more games, he has to! +
White's been slow at times and given up possession a few times, he's good but Timber is missed against better opponents
Completely agree. White has a few mistakes in him every game. Timber is rock solid. +
Saka definitely performs better when White is playing. However Timber is definitely the better right back. +
"His crimes? Of being 6 clear and in cl semis?  Arteta is an exceptional manager. "
Say if after he wins anything
Already has.  Exceptional manager  +
This is correct criticism. Zubi has been fatigued for months, while MLS has been underplayed
![gif](giphy|du4D0b0HWgxGg) Hop off it mate
Pardon?
City still has to play.
Exactly. Whereas Arsenals job for the weekend is done. Huge advantage Arsenal.  Arsenal got 3 to play, and 2 will be straightforward. West Ham only one that will be tough. Burnley down, Palace will play kids as they have a final after it. City got 5 tough games.  +
Imagine being a miserable cunt after that performance. Just go and watch baseball or some other meaningless sport.
Nah its fair criticism. Our midfield has been running on lucozade fumes for months, why has MLS and Norgaard not been used as releif for that? Currently we don't know, MLS looks more than capable in a more attacking CM role, Norgaard we just havent seen I really want to know why, there must be some reasons but it could be a gigantic mistake
And MLS may not have been training well as a CM prior. Assuming he would have just slotted in and performed like this a month ago shows the absolute idiocy of our fanbase.  MLS had a habit of losing the ball in bad positions early in the season from his LB spot. While that a problem as an LB, it’s devastating in most CM positions. He clearly needed to show he could protect possession and make good decisions before arteta was going to put him in a high pressure situation.
"This is the best we have played in ages. Dunno if it’s us being good or fulham being shite My one big takeaway is that Myles is better than zubimendi in every way"
Always find a way to complain. Great hater right here.
Zubi has value as a player.  But when worn down to a nub, he’s turned into a very shallow player, very little progressive passes, not press resistant, not winning duels.   MLS knew the FUCKING assignment.  He might not show up on the stat sheet but his aggressiveness today is what us supporters have been calling out for a while now.  Sure we are having our big dogs show up, but for me I see MLS…yes MLS a giving us some of our bite back..
Defensively he looked lost at times, but his bravery in the press and buildup is elite. It shows he shouldve been a rotation option from the start. +
Saka looking like himself and having more than a single technical player up front helps too +
It’s called April being over
rested zubi diff story but current zubi no doubt
zubs has played an insane amount of minutes, i don't berate him for that
Both offer their own set of skills. Calafiori being back is the real difference maker imo. Love MLS AND Zubi. Glad both can be of service to the team in their own ways +
Zubi can rest up for Athletico
100% +
"3-0 is a huge scoreline for the league. 3-0 at halftime is huge to let us rotate just a little bit for Tuesday. Great game from Gyokeres, Saka, and MLS."
I was very impressed with Gyok and MLS in midfield is a revelation  +
Imagine how big a 4/5-0 would have been
Saka and Gyoneres passing to each other i was in tears
I thought Trossard played the best he has in ages. Califori was really good and very unlucky not to score and Rice was great also (as he is most of the time) +
Please trossard give us 6 more games
He was a little selfish at times I thought
I think we can see Trossard's drop was fitness related. This kind of Trossard is the player who can win games, who adds life to the game Important to see he's looking like himself again +
I am led to believe that’s to do with his personal life. He is going through a divorce.
The return of Trossardinho
Now for tuesday, we are starting Calafiori or Hincapie ? I think full time Trossard today means Martinelli 100% in CL.

I think the plan was MLS in midfield all along. It doesn’t make sense otherwise for him to have signed a deal only to have a third LB sign a couple of months later. But he had only ever played LB for the first team - out of necessity. All the information out there tells us A…

That was prime 22/23 and spring of 23/24 football. Pure class Saka is crucial to this team. We need to keep him fit. Gyokeres - lots of apologizes are needed ngl 20 goals a season strikers are rarely this days Myles, my boy your days at LB are numbered. Welcome to midfield!

I thought Trossard played the best he has in ages. Califori was really good and very unlucky not to score and Rice was great also (as he is most of the time)

They have to find him more. From Eze( he is doing it), from Ode, from Saka, from Havertz. He will add more.

Yes, and we tried twice to play him in midfield in cup games to quicken his learning and unfortunately someone got hurt and he had to go back to LB. He'll be an amazing midfielder but it's really bloody hard to play the 6 for Arteta. It makes sense that he needed some time.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of people arguing for that even after this. Now, if there is a true superstar striker available, go for him. I'm not saying Gyokeres is irreplacable, but he clearly provides plenty of value himself. Him and Havertz both.

This might be easy to say now that we are 3-0 at half time but I really like MLS in midfield. He creates a lot more and he doesn’t get as exposed defensively. I too think Fulham is playing very poorly so it would be interesting to see him in that role against other teams.

Saliba is so consistently, absurdly good that I actually think he's almost become underrated. Just a ridiculous player. Really happy with that Lewis-Skelley performance as well. I think sometimes we forget that he's only 19 and still has a lot to learn, but his ability to hold p…
