How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

Feel like this is unfair.
What do you expect him to do when he's stretched across the back line and not starting games consistently? Its not his fault he's constantly started in a side when all the quality is either injured or rotated out.
He was one of the few who looked remotely bothered tonight.

Captivating Talking Points
It’s a trend now. We like being this underdog flying under the radar but yeah whenever the pressure is on to actually perform too many of these players do not show up.
I know he’s made lots of changes today but the levels from Rogers, Maatsen, Sancho I could go on or nowhere near what’s required

For everyone whining all season long that these players aren't good enough.
I've told you again and again, and we've just seen it. These players are more than good enough.
Shocking i know, but bring in a manager who …
The first half was brilliant, organized pressing, players actually executing not just rondos but smart passes into space. We should’ve scored 1 or 2 more if not Martinez’s fingertips and Tel’s selfishness
I think it says a lot about the game that the one time we actually tried, we scored. That was the performance of a team that had all eyes on Thursday and couldn't be bothered today.

Can we all agree Frank is an actual football terrorist?

I think it says a lot about the game that the one time we actually tried, we scored. That was the performance of a team that had all eyes on Thursday and couldn't be bothered today.
Commentators actually brought up his late tackle on Bentancur earlier, and I was angry about it all over again.
Can't agree there. Rogers for instance can actually contribute. Fuck if I know what Sancho is about. Can't beat a man, can't cross, can't shoot, no pace, weak, disinterested.
Bailey is absolutely fucking awful and he's still better than Sancho.
@SpursOfficial Tel,u are selfish, just pass the ball to palhinha, simple goal easyyyyyyyy, what's wrong with u,even a game recently played ,u did the same shit,
I am so fucking worried about Kinsky in goal when he actually has to stop goals from going in. He is not good a stopping goals jesus christ
Waiting for the reveal that Muani is actually one of those Neo robots programmed to play football he is awful
"I thought he'd go a bit early with those changes \[Unai Emery\]."- Commentator
You thought wrong!!
Richarlison scored a goal that wasn't a consolation goal and didn't rip his top off.
Something is very wrong.
I could be wrong, but does feel different this game hearing the pundits actually calling out the perceived lack of effort and energy
Actually infuriating! 'Theres nothing ahead' as Maatsen is off down the left open for a pass
◆ Algo-Amplified — Boosted Without Substance
I think it’s because at the end of the day this team was battling relegation under Deano and Gerrard. None of these players have a winners mentality and when things start going wrong they easily fall back into the mentality they had when we used to struggle
I think Romero is a bit misjudged but I also think he lost interest and he's not level headed enough when we need him. Danso night not light things up but he doesn't do much wrong and we need that at the moment
I think City away could also be in that class.
But the NBC commentators couldn't shut up in the first half about how well we were playing, pressing together, creating things etc. Felt so good.
They also kept blaming Tudor for why we have been bad and about to be relegated but didn't say Frank once. Like wtf?
Definitely weird that not a single pundit or commentator ever suggested Frank was failing to get a tune out of the players.
That away table they showed after the game is wild. It is so incredibly important that we hump Leeds at home as if The Arse don't bottle against Spam we could suddenly find ourselves 4 points clear. If that happens and Newcastle then beat them, West Ham will already be down before we even kick off against Chelsea.
All the stupid twitter pundits acting like no team has ever rotated before or that Villa played the U21 team are actually cringe as fuck. Talking about the integrity of the league like Villa committed a crime.
Going against the stream here but the amount of Tottenham hate is absolutely unhinged lol
One of Spurs' most organised 45 minutes of football this season. My first half Tottenham player ratings are now in our live match blog below. https://t.co/6qTRXYfrjg
This chance is all that's wrong with Tel, he has 0 ball IQ, he goes for a crap shot instead of assisting Gallagher who would have had a hard chance to miss the goal.

It’s a trend now. We like being this underdog flying under the radar but yeah whenever the pressure is on to actually perform too many of these players do not show up.
I know he’s made lots of changes today but the levels from Rogers, Maatsen, Sancho I could go on or nowhere ne…
the Villa TV co-commentator's belief that this is all down to "the ball bouncing wrong" is really really fucking annoying
The first half was brilliant, organized pressing, players actually executing not just rondos but smart passes into space. We should’ve scored 1 or 2 more if not Martinez’s fingertips and Tel’s selfishness
It really just feels so orchestrated. Like tv showing muani high fiving the fans as he went off. Palhinha and Porro celebrating tackles to the camera. Surely we aren’t this bad? Zero urgency. It’s completely unacceptable
Hopefully I’m wrong but throwing the game is going to kill our season.
Losing 3 in a row before the second leg. Turning Burnley into a cup final.

Tottenham Midfield Praised Despite Heavy Defeat

Boot lickers, the lot of them.
Totally ok with corrupt billionaires and oil states buying success, but throw all the toys out the pram when anyone dares try to bridge the gap organically.
You’ll be amazed as to what political events does do this community
'hate'? People just want to see entertainment and things happening against the odds.
↳
All of them should've been watching the swiss first division this season then
The idea of a big 6 team being relegated lends some credence to the idea of the sport being meritocratic. As it stands it's just the status quo.
↳
The fact that that team is spurs undermines that point. Spurs even being considered a big 6 team is a point for the meritocracy of football. Only team within the big 6 to have achieve that status without a sugardaddy (city, Chelsea) or being able to fall back on history and succes of the past (Liverpool, ManU, Arsenal). If you really want a point for meritocracy in football, fucking bodo glimmt exists
Spurs have to deal with both Chelsea and Arsenal fans, of which there are a ton of, hating them more than any other club. There's also a decent contingent of terminally online Liverpool fans who have specific hatred for Spurs. Add in whatever West Ham contingent there is here and you've got a team with a more diverse group of haters than arguably anyone else in England.
↳
Again how could this be because of Arsenal fans when Arsenal is the single most hated team in the world? What you are saying makes absolutely no sense.
↳
Single most hated team in the world!
↳
Are you really arguing this point? Like seriously?
If there was a poll of what team is the most liked and disliked on this hell site then Arsenal would win with a supermajority. 80% of this sub wants nothing else in life but to see City win the league and Spurs get relegated.

"Gallagher MOTM. Worked his fuckin arse off, and to great effect. Still sprinting at 95 minutes. "
Yep. Bros pressing was 10/10 and he had a few clear looks on goal for a pass when tel went full throttle
He looks to have found his full fitness at a crucial time. Just look at his legs.
I was annoyed when I saw he was starting but even happier to be proven wrong.
Exactly. Unlike someone like Djed (nowhere in terms of pressing compared to kolo muani) and to a degree Sarr as well. This playing cool in terms of body language is super annoying. We are in a fight for everything, look at Pedro and Palhinha, that’s the attitude! COYS
Absolutely agree with this, he did today what I’ve wanted him to do ever since he joined!
Simeone loved this about him, his technical ability failed him in Atletico, but Simeone was in love because he was like 6 horses
Yea, at last he has got up to Premiership pace.. 3 more performances like.that and we're safe.
He was great. Ran his socks off and holy shit that goal
Tel was dangerous. Loved the confidence to take things on, but if he squares it’s 3-0 and Gallagher has 2
↳
Yeah, Tel was my MOTM until that moment. He's still showing a lot of improvement though
Worked his ass off, scored and directed everyone on the pitch where and when to go.

A little bit of basic football and a little bit of confidence goes a long way.
Imagine what he'll do in the summer after he overhauls the squad and gets a full two months of training and is able to look at all the youth and loan players coming back.
All the cun1s going on about how it is the players fault and not the manager. Here is the evidence.
Elite mentality
He’s been fucked over with how many injuries we’ve had and he’s stubbornly standing there like “the players we have are good enough”
I’m genuinely so impressed
So far he's doing what some of us deluded ourselves into thinking Frank or Igor could do.
I forgot what was like to have an actually competent coach.
Can we all agree Frank is an actual football terrorist?
↳
Look at where brentford is going next season. And that’s without wissa and mbeumo
↳
Frank is the biggest fraud in football
↳
Feel like this proves so much of the game is in the players’ heads. It’s not like De Zerbi has had time to implement some master tactical plan. He’s just gotten the players to play with heart, believe in themselves and give a shit.
That was clearly missing all season— have to wonder if it started with Angie’s sacking. I can imagine if the players loved him and felt like they’d saved his job with the trophy, then seeing him sacked would suck the life out of the morale. Combine that with Frank coming in with all the swagger of the Wally with the Brolly…
↳
It's pretty clear that this particular group of players respond well to being given freedom to play and empowered to make decisions. That's the attitude of the biggest players and clubs, so you can argue whether it's an attitude they have earned or not, but it's no surprise that they respond well to managers like Ange and RDZ, and struggled under disciplinarians like Frank and Tudor.
Not saying that one approach is better than another, or any of those four are good or bad coaches. The job of the club leadership is to appoint and support a manager that fits with the players they have, or give the manager enough time and support to make the changes to the squad, which they have not done for a long time.
↳
It is like this in every team endeavors where the individuals participating know they are putting their physical health on the line in some appreciable way.
"This was the best coached game I've seen from us this season since the PSG UEFA Super Cup Final in the beginning of the season. You could see the confidence from the very beginning with Kinsky standin"
"This was the best coached game I've seen from us this season since the PSG UEFA Super Cup Final in the beginning of the season. You could see the confidence from the very beginning with Kinsky standin"
I wonder how the season would have looked differently if we didn’t have the late game collapse in the Super Cup and had won. That loss seemed to deflate the team and really did a number on their confidence.
We finally had an identity. You could see from the first minute what we were trying to do.
Agreed. Sorry we didn’t see out the clean sheet, but a win’s a win!
I think City away could also be in that class.
But the NBC commentators couldn't shut up in the first half about how well we were playing, pressing together, creating things etc. Felt so good.
They also kept blaming Tudor for why we have been bad and about to be relegated but didn't say Frank once. Like wtf?
↳
Tudor's record really was abysmal and I don't really want to let him off the hook either.
Tactically naive and I don't think we couldve afforded to have him as our manager for another game and have still have a shot at staying up.
↳
Honestly, Frank caused the rot, but we weren’t in such a dire league position when we sacked Frank that relegation was an amusing possibility, Tudor dragged us down even lower, with shit football and appalling morale, and made relegation so much more likely that it seemed certain until the last two weekends.
↳
The commentators were fawning over us? Damn the one game I miss. Wait, was I the problem?
↳
It was kind of surreal. Basically swapped roles that we have had all season. Even said if we played like this all season we would be about to win the league or something like that. Which was a bit of hyperbolic but still crazy.
If you get to watch the first half you will recognize the team.
↳
Definitely weird that not a single pundit or commentator ever suggested Frank was failing to get a tune out of the players.
↳
Something tells me that Frank might be on TV commentating duties for the world cup and they didn't want to shit on one of their colleagues?
"Away fans were incredible as they have been all season
De Zerbi clearly has these lads coached. Wtf were the other managers doing with them"
"Away fans were incredible as they have been all season
De Zerbi clearly has these lads coached. Wtf were the other managers doing with them"
Seems like he is having them play pretty close to ange ball
↳
To be fair, most of them are fairly familiar with it...
↳
Definitely had some of that with the fullbacks getting up into the half spaces in possession.
I like Ange as a person a lot better than Di Zerbi, but I have to admit our use of defensive possession against Villa was fantastic and a clear improvement on Ange.
We tried to attack fast on a transition but when it wasn't there pulled it back and kept it for a few minutes. Night and day difference in terms of letting the players catch their breaths and maintain the high press pretty much the entire game.
↳
There were plenty of times under ange where the back line/ gk would pass around inviting the press before moving the ball upfield and starting the attack
↳
We built from back-to-front very well under Ange, at times the best in the league. But we were all out attack all the time, whereas under Di Zerbi we will actually recycle when the initial attack isn't on.
Tricky balance to get just right, but we both try to use transitions when we win the ball and also are fine knocking it around for a minute or two when it's not happening.
Gives the guys a chance to catch their breaths, helps us maintain a very aggressive high press almost the entire game, when we'd largely be out of gas under Ange by the 60th minute.
He’s walked into a squad missing their 5 best players, got no new signings, with a demand for instant results, and has us playing like THAT
↳
Remember Ranieri at Leicester. Wink wink
↳
2027 We’re winning the league.
↳
Unironically the best time to go for it is when you don’t have Europe. If united had got rid of Amorim earlier they could be in the title race rn
I think Frank killed their confidence. Can't blame Tudor too much. He wasn't there long and had personal stuff going on. De Zerbi definitely gave them clear instructions and restored their confidence. I think playing proactively on it's own sends a good message to the squad in a way words couldn't.

@SpursOfficial Proud Spurs fan. I have no doubt we will be staying up now. Excellent performance and massive appreciation to what Roberto De Zerbi has done to the team in such a short space of time. COME ON YOU SPURS 🤍

I think Frank killed their confidence. Can't blame Tudor too much. He wasn't there long and had personal stuff going on. De Zerbi definitely gave them clear instructions and restored their confidence. I think playing proactively on it's own sends a good message to the squad in a …

so many weird takes on him. it's like all they see is a butcher. his tackles and marking are an art, and he has a great eye for goal. he's sneakily adept on the ball and isn't a liability in possession when you really watch him.

As poor as Villa were, Spurs have been impressive. Particularly their workrate and pressing all over the pitch. You can definitely see De Zerbi's influence starting to show, and you can definitely see them staying up

Conor Gallagher scores! Lovely low drive from the midfielder after taking down a headed clearance from Danso's long throw. He takes a touch on the edge of the box and sends it perfectly into the bottom left corner of the net. https://t.co/6qTRXYfrjg

For everyone whining all season long that these players aren't good enough.
I've told you again and again, and we've just seen it. These players are more than good enough.
Shocking i know, but bring in a manager who plays similar to the football they were bought for, and does…
