How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

It's an incorrect decision by the ref. It's not an incorrect decision by VAR who by the rules are not there to re-ref the game like you want.
No, it was not brought in to correct every tiny little mistake by a ref. Only clear and obvious errors. No matter how much you want to ignore what I said, this does not fall under a clear and obvious error. There is room between what most people think is a wrong call and a clear and obvious error that this falls in. Much like the difference in …
@WildGalago
Not just saying this cos I'm a Palace fan, but it seems we get the shi end of the stick when it comes to ref decisions, we've been looked after a few times but overall we've been screwed over big time this season.
Bournemouth were the stronger side and deserved the win.
I wish them all the best and hope they get European football.
Premier League: [https://www.reddit.com/live/1goz04wukbq97](https://www.reddit.com/live/1goz04wukbq97)
Because the ref on the pitch clearly saw the contact and thought it was a foul. It's not a cause of missing that there was no contact or something else that everyone can see was missed like the Henry handball. You can't prove the contact here didn't cause him to go down. You're making a judgement call.
Henderson messing up **just** after the commentator was praising him was hilarious.
It's not worth the risk of potentially getting injured. If you'd offered Palace the chance to forfeit the game 3-0 without actually playing it, they'd probably have said yes.
I honestly feel like clubs such as Bournemouth, Brentford or Brighton are a better destination as a young talent than Chelsea. Sure they aren't as prestigious and maybe they won't give you an absurdly long contract, but you'll actually get developed and chances to integrate yourself into a team and improve and get noticed, rather than just being on…
What is the point of VAR when it reaches the wrong decision. Never a penalty
What's the point of VAR?
Every week they get something horrifically wrong.

@afcbournemouth Que o treinador tenha aprendido que a posição ideal do Rayan. Utilizá-lo como assistente de lateral dificilmente vai fazê-lo apresentar seu melhor futebol. Na posição que ele estava quando recebeu o passe pro gol, é onde ele rende melhor. Ele é finalizador nato e não assitente!

Meh.
I feel like Brennan Johnson is going to score the winner in the Conference League Final.
It'll probably be an own goal though.
Its a dive mate. Thats a lot of words to justify an incorrect decision.
Commentators keep saying there is contact, there was also contact on a lot of not foul calls, apparently they forgot this is a contact sport and repeating the word contact does make anything a foul....

Fan Narratives
Bournemouth Fans Fear Iraola Exit Despite Talent Emergence
Controversial
AFC Bournemouth supporters are celebrating the breakthrough performances of young talents like Eli Kroupi and Rayan, but are deeply anxious about manager Andoni Iraola's future departure at the end of the season and whether the club can maintain momentum without him. The discussion reflects pride in the club's development system and recruitment strategy—contrasting sharply with bigger clubs' wasteful approaches—yet is shadowed by concern that the next manager won't replicate Iraola's tactical acumen and ability to blood young players successfully.
Controversial Penalty Decision Sparks Outrage
Fans are furious over the 32nd-minute penalty awarded to Crystal Palace, with the overwhelming consensus that it was a clear mistake and never should have been given. The decision has become the focal point of anger amongst supporters, who view it as a completely unjustified call that undermined the integrity of the match.
Fans Slam VAR After Questionable Penalty Decision
Supporters are expressing widespread frustration over VAR's inconsistency, particularly condemning a penalty awarded in this match that they believe was a clear dive whilst criticising the system's failure to intervene in other contentious incidents like the Anderson foul in Chelsea versus Nottingham Forest. The overarching complaint is that VAR is either getting major decisions wrong or taking excessive time to analyse marginal calls, undermining the entire purpose of its introduction.
Penalty Controversy Dominates Half-Time Talk
Neutral observers are split over a controversial penalty awarded in the 32nd minute, with some questioning the decision whilst others defend VAR's involvement. The discussion captures the typical back-and-forth of live match reactions, ranging from genuine debate about the officiating to standard engagement posts and resignation from one side's supporters as the scoreline becomes increasingly difficult.
Unable to Summarise — Data Mismatch
Emerging
The sample posts provided do not align with the stated match events or final scoreline, making it impossible to accurately summarise fan discussion about this fixture.
Bournemouth Fans Furious Over Questionable Penalty Call
Fans across the spectrum—including Bournemouth supporters—unanimously condemned the 32nd-minute penalty awarded to Crystal Palace as a non-decision, with several pointing out refereeing standards have collapsed this season. While most acknowledged the controversial call didn't ultimately determine the result given Palace's poor performance and Bournemouth's dominant 3-0 win, frustration at VAR and match officials remains a broader talking point, with some Bournemouth fans even referencing a dodgy Palace penalty in the reverse fixture to contextualise their grievance.
Crystal Palace's Defensive Collapse Sparks Referee Debate
Neutral observers and Palace supporters are divided over whether referees cost Crystal Palace in their 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, with some pointing to poor officiating across the season whilst others argue the club's abysmal performance and individual errors—including a penalty conceded—are entirely self-inflicted. The loss has intensified concerns about Palace's form and their ability to maintain their league position with four matches remaining.
Crystal Palace Fans Demand Player Changes After Poor Display
Crystal Palace supporters are heavily criticising manager Oliver Glasner's team selection and substitution decisions, with particular anger directed at Brennan Johnson, Jefferson Lerma, and other underperforming players being left on the pitch throughout the match. Fans argue that rotating key players for European commitments should not come at the cost of subjecting paying supporters to such a poor performance, and are calling for these players to be dropped immediately.
Bournemouth Fans Rave About Rayan's Breakout Performance
AFC Bournemouth supporters are celebrating young winger Rayan following his goal in the 3-0 victory, with fans hailing him as a future star and suggesting he's stepped up impressively in the absence of key attacking players. The consensus is that Rayan has showcased genuine quality and is drawing serious attention as one of the Premier League's exciting young talents.
Junior Kroupi Breaks Teenage Scoring Record
Crystal Palace fans are celebrating Kroupi's penalty goal in the 3-0 victory, which sees the teenager eclipse the Premier League record for most goals scored by a debut-season teenager. Whilst some supporters acknowledge the bulk of his strikes have come from penalties, the general sentiment is one of excitement about his potential and future trajectory at the club.
Fans Rage at Soft Penalty Decision in Bournemouth Loss
Supporters from both sides are furious with the referee for awarding a dubious penalty to Crystal Palace in the 32nd minute, with multiple posts describing it as a clear dive by Senesi with minimal contact that should never have been given. The decision has overshadowed the match outcome, with even some Palace fans acknowledging it was a shocking call despite their side's eventual 3-0 victory.
Bournemouth's Dodgy Penalty Sparks VAR Fury
Fans across multiple clubs are united in condemning the penalty awarded to Bournemouth in the 32nd minute, with many viewing it as a clear dive that VAR should have overturned. The decision has reignited broader frustrations about inconsistent refereeing standards, particularly among Leeds supporters still aggrieved over decisions that cost them points in their recent fixture against Palace.
Bournemouth's Controversial Penalty Decision Divides Fans
Supporters are sharply divided over the legitimacy of the penalty awarded to Crystal Palace in the first half, with some calling it a "criminal" dive and clear-cut simulation, whilst others grudgingly accept it as a soft decision that finally went their way. The controversy overshadows what becomes a comfortable 3-0 victory, with fans frustrated by inconsistent refereeing standards in the Premier League.
Penalty Decision Divides Fans Over Diving Claims
Neutral observers and supporters are locked in heated debate over whether Crystal Palace's penalty was legitimate contact or a clear dive, with fans split on whether Dean Henderson was genuinely fouled or theatrically deceived the referee. The disagreement centres on VAR's decision not to overturn the on-pitch call, with some arguing it was a harsh decision and others insisting there was minimal contact that didn't warrant a penalty.
Bournemouth and Palace Fans Rage at Penalty "Dive"
Fans across both camps are utterly dismayed by the penalty awarded to Crystal Palace in the 32nd minute, unanimously describing it as a blatant dive that should never have stood. The broader frustration extends to VAR's failure to overturn the decision, with supporters expressing deep concern about the overall quality of refereeing standards this season.

Bournemouth Fans Debate Rayan's Best Position After Goal
Following Rayan's goal in the 3-0 victory, supporters are heavily discussing tactical positioning, with many arguing the winger should play centrally or as an inside forward rather than out wide on the flank where he's currently deployed. The debate centres on unlocking his potential by placing him in areas where he can make one-on-one runs and accumulate chances rather than being pinned to the touchline.
Bournemouth's 3-0 Win Leaves Fans Questioning Legitimacy
Bournemouth dominated Crystal Palace with a 3-0 victory, but supporters were divided on whether the opening goal actually crossed the line, with several posts casting doubt on the legitimacy of the scoreline. The discussion also touched on wasted chances and the involvement of deflections, particularly around Jefferson Lerma's role in the goals.
Crystal Palace Fans Vent Frustration After Heavy Defeat
Palace supporters are venting anger and frustration following a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth, with criticism directed at individual players, the team's performance, and the club's official social media accounts for continuing to post during the match. The negativity is mixed with some desperate hope that the result won't derail their season, alongside heated exchanges between fans over the day's poor showing.
Bournemouth Fans Fuming Over Controversial Penalty Decision
Crystal Palace supporters and neutrals are in uproar over the penalty awarded to Eli Kroupi in the 32nd minute, with the overwhelming consensus that Bournemouth were harshly treated and the decision was soft at best, non-existent at worst. The controversy centres on minimal or no contact in the box, sparking widespread debate about whether modern refereeing has made defending an impossible task.

"How was that not an obvious error? He deceived the ref by diving. VAR should interfere "
Because the ref on the pitch clearly saw the contact and thought it was a foul. It's not a cause of missing that there was no contact or something else that everyone can see was missed like the Henry handball. You can't prove the contact here didn't cause him to go down. You're making a judgement call.
↳
Lmao
↳
Its a dive mate. Thats a lot of words to justify an incorrect decision.
↳
It's an incorrect decision by the ref. It's not an incorrect decision by VAR who by the rules are not there to re-ref the game like you want.
↳
> incorrect decision by the ref
Thats what VAR is for..
↳
No, it was not brought in to correct every tiny little mistake by a ref. Only clear and obvious errors. No matter how much you want to ignore what I said, this does not fall under a clear and obvious error. There is room between what most people think is a wrong call and a clear and obvious error that this falls in. Much like the difference in thinking someone is guilty of a crime or guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
↳
It does. Its a penalty decision and you've said the ref was incorrect.
↳
Lotta mental gymnastics here bud. It’s a clear and obvious error and they’ve actively chosen to ignore it.
"Feel like when a manager announces he's leaving before the end of the season the players stop caring but Bournemouth seem to have got better. Could barely even call this game a contest today."
"Feel like when a manager announces he's leaving before the end of the season the players stop caring but Bournemouth seem to have got better. Could barely even call this game a contest today."
Your comment is ignoring the fact that we rested all our best players for Thursday's semifinal second leg. We don't have anything to play for in the league whereas you aren't quite safe yet so can't really afford to rest players.
Not sour grapes, even if the soft penalty wasn't given we would have lost anyway. As you said, was barely a contest. Just feel like people love to ignore context for results/performances these days so wanted to provide as much.
↳
That's fair, you wouldn't be giving Brennan Johnson 90 minutes with him playing like that if this game was important to you.
↳
Effin hell is every Palace fan gonna mention that second goal? You were well beaten
↳
> **even if** the soft penalty wasn't given **we would have lost anyway**
You've not saying anything different to what I already said but felt the need to moan anyway...
↳
Chelsea fans cant read it seems
>Could barely even call this game a contest today.
Bournemouth are a good team, but I think that says far more about Palace's priorities than any disparity between the two sides. A team who leaves five of their best players on the bench and then subs another three off at half time clearly isn't particularly interested in winning. The aim of the game was to rotate and avoid injuries for Palace, avoiding a spanking would have been a bonus but not the priority.
They still have European spots to fight for tbf.
"Bournemouth are the biggest bunch of cheats in the PL. A joke of a dive."
"Bournemouth are the biggest bunch of cheats in the PL. A joke of a dive."
actually I think you'll find thats the PGMOL 😉
Wouldn't say that mate, all teams take advantage of the corrupt system.
Bournemouth were the stronger side but they were also looked after by the ref, probably would've been a draw or a 1-2 nil win for them if the game was actually fair.
UP THE CHERRIES 🍒🍒🍒
What a pathetic comment.
"The amount of times Palace has just given a blind pass to no one is astounding. Are they even interested in this game?"
"The amount of times Palace has just given a blind pass to no one is astounding. Are they even interested in this game?"
The answer is no
↳
They are just walking around too. A freak own goal and a joke of a penalty separates them. I know Bournemouth are comfortably in control and don't need to exert themselves either, but this is sad to watch.
↳
It's not worth the risk of potentially getting injured. If you'd offered Palace the chance to forfeit the game 3-0 without actually playing it, they'd probably have said yes.
↳
They're not arsed about the league. It's conference league or nothing
"Manchester City's match against Crystal Palace is going to be a cricket score, isn't it?! Fuck sake..."
"Manchester City's match against Crystal Palace is going to be a cricket score, isn't it?! Fuck sake..."
They have intentionally thrown the game away for their Conference league semi final on Thursday. The final will be 15 days after their City game so i doubt they will throw it away like this. And also good news is their game against Arsenal is the last game of the league and only 4 days before their final so they will most likely give it away too by benching all their starters and important players.
Don't be fooled, this is not their actual level.
↳
Missing Sarr and Wharton is pretty much a death sentence for us right now. Feel for JSL because a large amount of his appearances have been with them two out and it’s made it hard for him to get service and prove himself. Guessand being out also hurts, was by far the most dynamic attacking mid after Sarr
You also play Palace...
Arsenal also have a game against palace luckily
