How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

What is this injury crisis that I've kept hearing from Slot defenders that is to blame for this season? As if we didn't have close to the strongest squad available for most of the season 😭

U w0t m8? Of all the players to blame for this shit you go for Virgil? We’re lucky he has managed to stay fit the whole season and play every single game. Do you know how infuriating it is for a defender to have to constantly put his body on the line and see the a big hole in the middle of the pitch , or watch opposition attackers dribble unopposed at speed towards your goal? He’s been the least of our problems this season , get a fucking grip.

Leverkusen fans warned us that Frimpong can't cross the ball and that he's insanely frustraiting in attack. If he's not good at defense either, why did we buy him for 30 mil? Crazy money. Outside of his speed I genuinely don't know what he has.

I’m not a Slot apologist but this is inaccurate. It was Slot’s idea to play Gravenberch as a 6 and to play Gakpo on the left. These changes played a part in our league win last season, and improved on what Klopp was doing.

Just not sure how you can look at that and think Frimpong’s done nothing wrong there. Pedro even gets a touch as Frimpong is purposefully getting his legs tangled trying to win the ball. Either way, commentary saying that he got up too fast as an argument against giving a pen is pathetic.

Fan Narratives
Liverpool's Summer Reckoning as Title Fight Crumbles
Emerging Controversial
Liverpool supporters are locked in a bitter debate about whether manager Arne Slot will remain next season, with many demanding his removal after a dramatic collapse from title contenders to fourth place in the final weeks. The discussion cuts across frustration with on-pitch performance, questions about whether the board will back the manager publicly or privately, and simmering anger that despite significant investment, the team has delivered a season fans see as fundamentally unacceptable.
Mysterious VR Headset Spotted in Anfield Crowd
Emerging
Fans noticed a spectator wearing a VR headset during the Liverpool versus Chelsea match and spent the entire discussion debating whether it was a technological aid for accessibility or simply someone escapist enough to watch a different match entirely. The running jokes and genuine confusion dominated social media as supporters couldn't decide whether to admire the commitment or question the sanity of abandoning a live game for virtual football.
Kerkez Criticised for Weak Attacking Display
Controversial
Fans are heavily scrutinising Kerkez's performance in this match, particularly his inability to deliver effective crosses and his tendency to stop the ball unnecessarily rather than maintain momentum going forward. The criticism feeds into broader concerns about last summer's recruitment strategy, with multiple supporters questioning whether recent signings like Kerkez, Frimpong, and Wirtz have proven their worth to the team.
Mamardashvili Under Fire as Liverpool Struggles Intensify
Controversial
Liverpool supporters are heavily criticising goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili's distribution and decision-making in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea, with fans arguing his inability to execute quick counter-attacks exposes deeper systemic problems in the team's attacking shape and work rate. The discussion reveals broader frustration about Liverpool's lack of movement and running off the ball, suggesting the squad has mentally checked out rather than the goalkeeper alone bearing responsibility.
Szoboszlai Carrying Liverpool's Attacking Burden Alone
Emerging Controversial
Liverpool fans are expressing frustration that Dominik Szoboszlai is being forced to shoulder far too much creative and pressing responsibility whilst the rest of the squad fails to contribute sufficiently, with some calling for him to be the focal point of any squad rebuild. The discussion reflects broader concern about the team's overall balance and work rate, with many suggesting that without Szoboszlai's individual effort, Liverpool would be substantially worse off.
Fans Divided Over Controversial VAR Penalty Decision
Emerging
Liverpool and Chelsea supporters are locked in heated debate over whether a first-half incident involving Joao Pedro should have resulted in a penalty, with the football community sharply split on whether contact in the box constituted a clear foul or a legitimate 50-50 challenge. The disagreement reflects wider frustration with VAR consistency, as some fans defend the referee's call whilst others insist a penalty should have been awarded.
Fans Slam Palmer's Diving and Ref's Naive Decisions
Emerging
Liverpool and Chelsea supporters are furious with Cole Palmer's repeated theatrics—falling over at minimal contact to draw fouls—and blaming the referee for repeatedly falling for it throughout the match. The discussion centres on Palmer's diving technique being so effective it's essentially "perfected," with fans questioning how the official keeps awarding fouls for what they see as legitimate challenges or the Chelsea forward simply throwing himself to the ground.
Colwill's Return Transforms Chelsea Defence Debate
Emerging Controversial
Chelsea supporters are overwhelmingly praising Levi Colwill's impact after his return from injury, with fans crediting his defensive quality and ball-playing ability as the primary reason the side managed to secure a point against Liverpool. The discussion centres on how his presence fundamentally changes Chelsea's defensive solidity and attacking threat, sparking wider conversation about recruitment needs alongside him.
Liverpool Fans Turn on Frimpong's Bundesliga Form
Emerging
Liverpool supporters are heavily criticising right-back Frimpong's performances and questioning why the club spent £30-35 million on a player who appears to lack the technical quality needed for the Premier League, with many arguing his pace is his only significant attribute. Fans are particularly frustrated given warnings from Leverkusen that he cannot cross effectively and citing his struggles defensively, leading them to view the signing as a major misjudgement compared to other expensive summer acquisitions.
Mac Allister's Late Passion Sparks Debate Over Liverpool Midfield
Emerging Controversial
Fans are divided over Alexis Mac Allister's aggressive late-game display, with some praising his emotional commitment and willingness to engage when the team needed energy, whilst others questioned whether a brief spell of reckless tackling masks deeper midfield problems and consistency issues that have plagued Liverpool's season. The discussion reflects broader frustration at the squad's overall performances, with Mac Allister's burst of intensity becoming a flashpoint for examining whether passion alone can solve Liverpool's slump.
Fans Regret Early Kickoff for Drab Draw
Emerging Controversial
Liverpool and Chelsea supporters are expressing frustration at waking up early for what they perceived as an underwhelming 1-1 draw, with many joking they made the right call by skipping or abandoning the match. The discussion centres on the inconvenience of the early kickoff time rather than specific refereeing decisions, as fans grumble about lost sleep for a forgettable encounter.
Liverpool Fans Divided as Chiesa Struggles in Draw
Emerging Controversial
A 143-post discussion centred on Federico Chiesa's anonymous performance during Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, with supporters torn between frustration at his continued minutes and occasional appreciation for his off-pitch personality. The overwhelming consensus leans towards criticism of manager Arne Slot's team selection and tactical approach, with Chiesa becoming a lightning rod for broader discontent about squad depth and recruitment decisions.
Liverpool Fans Turn on Gakpo Over Shocking Touchless Performance
Emerging
Liverpool supporters are furious with Cody Gakpo for recording just 41 minutes without touching the ball during the Chelsea draw, with debate splitting between blaming the player's form and criticising manager Arne Slot's rigid tactical system that starves the striker of possession. The discussion escalates into broader frustration with Slot's inflexibility, transfer strategy, and apparent obsession with Gakpo despite the winger's decline in output and involvement.
Caicedo's Midfield Mastery and Snide Play Divide Fans
Emerging Controversial
Fans are sharply split on Moisés Caicedo's display, with some praising his exceptional passing range and vision in midfield — particularly against Alexis Mac Allister — whilst others criticise his needlessly aggressive, cheap tactics and perceived lack of booking for borderline fouls. The 67 posts oscillate between genuine admiration for his technical quality and frustration at what many view as unsporting behaviour without sufficient official sanction.
Enzo Fernández's Controversial Display Divides Fans
Emerging Controversial
Fans are locked in heated debate over Enzo Fernández's performance and conduct during Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Liverpool, with particular focus on his equalising goal, a yellow card he received, and broader criticism of his overall playing style. The discussion reveals sharp divisions between those who view him as a problem player and those defending the legitimacy of his goal and dismissing complaints as overblown.
Liverpool Fans Dissect Toothless Tactical System
Emerging Controversial
Liverpool supporters are furious with Arne Slot's cautious, possession-recycling approach — particularly the team's tendency to retreat after scoring first and abandon attacking intensity. Fans are pointing to fundamental midfield movement issues, backwards passing patterns, and a lack of penetrative play as evidence of systemic tactical failure that goes beyond individual player performance.
Rio's Substitution Sparks Tactical Debate at Liverpool
Emerging
Liverpool supporters are divided over Arne Slot's decision to substitute a player named Rio in the second half, with some accepting the manager's explanation of muscle tightness whilst others criticise it as overly cautious and tactically damaging. The disagreement reflects broader frustration with Liverpool's season-long injury crisis and squad depth issues, with fans debating whether Slot's personnel decisions represent prudent management or defensive cowardice.
Newcastle Fans Debate Isak's Impact Under New Tactics
Emerging
Newcastle supporters are divided over whether Alexander Isak is being let down by Arne Slot's system and squad construction, or whether the expensive striker simply hasn't delivered as expected. The discussion centres on whether Isak's struggles stem from poor tactical deployment and injury concerns, or represent a fundamentally flawed transfer decision.
Jørgensen Under Fire After Shot Controversy
Fans are heavily criticising Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen's handling of a crucial shot during the 1-1 draw with Liverpool, with supporters questioning his distribution and composure under pressure. The negative sentiment centres on whether he should have dealt with the attempt more effectively, with comparisons drawn to his previous struggles against long-range efforts.
Curtis Jones Blamed for Defensive Collapse at Right-Back
Emerging
Liverpool fans are split on Curtis Jones's display, with many criticising his positioning and vulnerable defending against Chelsea's left flank, while others argue he was poorly deployed and left isolated without adequate support. The negativity is compounded by post-match footage of Jones laughing with Chelsea players, which some supporters interpret as a lack of urgency or commitment during a frustrating draw.
Liverpool Fans Call for Xabi Alonso Managerial Change
Emerging
With Arne Slot's tenure under intense scrutiny following the 1-1 draw with Chelsea, Liverpool supporters are actively debating whether the club should sack the manager and pursue Xabi Alonso instead, citing concerns about tactical setup, player development, and the belief that Alonso represents a superior alternative already available in the market. The discussion centres on frustration that Liverpool appear tactically outmatched in games, with fans arguing Alonso's brand of football would better suit the squad's strengths compared to Slot's perceived defensive, uninspired approach.
Liverpool Fans Turn on Slot After Chelsea Draw
Emerging
With 1,886 posts dominated by negative sentiment, Liverpool supporters are venting frustration at Arne Slot's tactical approach and team selections following the 1-1 draw with Chelsea, with many calling for the manager's departure and questioning whether his defensive style is fit for a title-challenging club. The discussion ranges from conspiracy theories about deliberate sabotage to more serious criticism of his tactical philosophy compared to top European managers, all amid a season where Liverpool sit fourth with mounting pressure.
Liverpool Fans Furious Over Goalkeeper Distribution Errors
Controversial
Liverpool supporters are directing intense criticism at their goalkeeper's poor ball-handling and distribution under pressure, with particular frustration over a missed attacking opportunity that could have changed the match. The posts suggest fans believe basic passing and possession management are being mishandled, with some questioning managerial oversight of these fundamental issues.
Chelsea Fans Tear Into Gusto's Sideways Football
Emerging
Chelsea supporters have launched a sustained critique of Malo Gusto's performance, with 205 posts focusing on his tendency to play backwards passes and fail to progress attacks down the right flank. Fans argue he kills promising moves with poor decision-making and lack of ambition, suggesting alternative options like Josh would be more effective in the role.
Mixed Verdict on "He S" as Injury Concerns Resurface
Emerging Controversial
Fans are offering cautiously balanced takes on a player's performance, acknowledging some dribbling ability and promise whilst questioning his game intelligence and consistency this season. The discussion pivots around whether injuries have genuinely impacted his form or whether fitness issues are becoming a convenient excuse for underperformance.
VAR Drama and Card Chaos Divide Match Opinion
Emerging Controversial
Fans are locked in debate over a controversial VAR decision in the second half—with a disallowed Cole Palmer goal sparking intense disagreement about referee consistency. The mounting yellow card count has amplified frustration, with supporters divided on whether the officials have lost control of the match.
Corner Tactics Chaos Fuels Widespread Fan Frustration
Emerging
Liverpool and Chelsea supporters are venting their frustration at the increasingly chaotic and physical corner routines now dominating Premier League football, with many blaming Arsenal for starting a trend of aggressive, rule-bending set-piece tactics that other clubs have copied. Fans are particularly wound up that referees appear to allow pushing and obstruction at corners that would never be tolerated during open play, with some arguing Liverpool's own reluctance to adopt these methods puts them at a competitive disadvantage.
Cucurella Divides Opinion After Draw With Chelsea
Emerging Controversial
Fans are sharply split on Marc Cucurella's display, with some praising his attacking contribution whilst others viciously criticise his overall performance and defending. The discussion sits firmly in neutral territory, reflecting genuine disagreement rather than consensus about whether the Chelsea left-back is a long-term asset or liability.
Fans Furious at Referee Display in Liverpool-Chelsea Draw
Emerging
Liverpool and Chelsea supporters have launched sustained criticism of the match official's performance, with particular anger directed at controversial decisions in the closing stages and what many describe as inconsistent card distribution throughout the game. The overwhelming sentiment reflects frustration that poor refereeing overshadowed what should have been a competitive fixture, with some fans arguing the result masks deeper problems with Premier League officiating standards.
Reece James Impact Debate as Chelsea Rotation Unfolds
Emerging
Chelsea fans are divided on Reece James's influence after his substitute appearance in the draw, with some praising his immediate impact whilst others highlight his injury record and absence from 79 matches over three seasons. Discussion also centres on rotation options in midfield, particularly whether Roméo Lavia should operate deeper to accommodate Andrey Santos.
Calum McFarlane's Standards Claims Backfire Spectacularly
Chelsea supporters are sarcastically hammering new manager Calum McFarlane over his recent public statements about "standards," using the term mockingly after a disjointed 1-1 draw where Liverpool dominated long stretches and Chelsea's discipline crumbled with a cascade of late yellows. The fanbase is essentially saying: you can't lecture about standards in the gym and training ground, then field a performance this sloppy on the pitch.
Liverpool and Chelsea Draw Proves Defensive Chaos
Emerging
Fans reacted to the 1-1 draw with animated GIFs capturing the chaotic, yellow-card-laden nature of the match—a frantic encounter where neither side could impose control despite early promise, with the VAR intervention and accumulating bookings defining a frustratingly scrappy contest.
VAR Offside Controversy Dominates Liverpool-Chelsea Draw
Emerging
Fans are furious over a disallowed goal in the second half, with 117 posts overwhelmingly criticising a player's positioning and questioning how a professional footballer repeatedly finds himself in offside positions during straightforward attacking situations. The negative sentiment reflects widespread frustration that VAR's decision, whilst technically correct, exposed poor decision-making from the player involved rather than referee error.
Liverpool Fans Dread Delap's Unlikely Late Drama
Emerging
Liverpool supporters are gripped by a darkly comic anxiety that Chelsea's misfiring forward Liam Delap—who has managed just one goal in 33 appearances this season—will somehow break his drought with a cruel stoppage-time winner against them at Anfield. The posts blend gallows humour with genuine dread, treating it as an inevitable script of Murphy's Law football rather than a serious tactical concern.
Cole Palmer's Inconsistency Divides Chelsea Support
Emerging Controversial
Fans are deeply split on Cole Palmer's performance and overall quality, with some defending his display against Liverpool whilst others harshly criticise his decision-making and chemistry with teammates—particularly Malo Gusto on Chelsea's right flank, which several supporters identify as a genuine tactical problem. The 73-post discussion centres on whether Palmer is genuinely a top attacking talent or a frustrating underperformer, with a notable VAR incident in the 50th minute fuelling additional debate about his involvement in key moments.
Liverpool and Chelsea Draw Marred by Referee Controversy
Fans across both sides are expressing frustration with officiating decisions, particularly a contentious VAR call involving Cole Palmer in the second half, with the match ending 1-1 after Gravenberch's early opener was cancelled out by Fernández's leveller. The neutral-to-negative sentiment reflects widespread criticism of the referee's handling of the match rather than the result itself, with yellow cards flying late on as tempers frayed.
Late Yellows and Inconsistency Spark Ref Fury
Emerging
Fans are furious over what they perceive as wildly inconsistent refereeing, with the referee dishing out yellow cards late in the game whilst allegedly ignoring repeated fouls from Chelsea players like Caicedo, Cucurella, and Gusto throughout the match. The overwhelming complaint is that the official has lost control and is applying the laws of the game unevenly, with some calling for red cards to be brandished for dangerous play.
Van Dijk Wrestled Down, Ref Sees Nothing
Emerging
Liverpool fans are furious that Virgil van Dijk was not awarded a penalty after being grabbed and held by Moisés Caicedo in the box, with multiple posts arguing the Chelsea midfielder was effectively hanging on him while the referee and VAR took no action. The frustration centres on the inconsistency of officiating throughout the match, with fans feeling van Dijk's clear contact was ignored despite other decisions being scrutinised more closely.
Liverpool Fans Turn on Slot Over Substitutions and Boos
Emerging
Liverpool supporters vented their frustration at Anfield with widespread booing during the 1-1 draw, particularly targeting manager Arne Slot's team selections and substitution decisions — with the mood described as shifting from apathy to genuine anger. When players like Ryan Gravenberch responded by suggesting fans needed to show more support, it only inflamed sentiment further, with supporters arguing that millionaire players had no right to lecture paying fans about their right to voice dissatisfaction.
Liverpool and Chelsea Fans Demand Season End as Patience Evaporates
Emerging Controversial
Supporters from both sides are expressing exhaustion and despair at a disappointing campaign, with the draw leaving them viewing the remainder of the season as essentially pointless. The overwhelming sentiment is one of resignation — fans want the season finished immediately rather than endure another week of football they've found tedious and demoralising.
VAR Drama Ruins Liverpool-Chelsea as Penalty Call Divides Fans
Emerging
Fans are furious over a VAR-reviewed penalty decision at Anfield, with the overwhelmingly negative reaction split between those who think a clear foul was missed and others who criticise the theatricality of modern defenders going down too easily. The incident exemplifies wider frustration with inconsistent refereeing across a scrappy, foul-heavy match that saw 33 fouls called and numerous yellow cards, leaving neither set of supporters convinced the officials got it right.
Liverpool Fans Demand Defensive Midfielder After Gravenberch Display
Liverpool supporters are heavily criticising Ryan Gravenberch's performance in midfield, with widespread frustration that he and Alexis Mac Allister lack the defensive solidity required at the base of the team. The consensus is that Arne Slot desperately needs to recruit a specialist number six to cover for Gravenberch's positional weaknesses and improve Liverpool's midfield balance.
Anfield's Atmosphere Problem on Display
Emerging
Fans are divided over Liverpool's home crowd's underwhelming performance during the 1-1 draw, with many criticising the Anfield atmosphere as subdued and library-like, whilst others push back against blaming the stadium itself for the team's lacklustre display. The discussion reflects broader frustration with both the performance and what's perceived as a disconnect between the ground's traditional reputation and its current, quieter reality.
Liverpool Fans Demand Answers On Training and Tactics
Emerging
Liverpool supporters are united in frustration at Arne Slot's coaching, arguing that the squad's persistent inability to execute basic football — poor passing, lack of positioning, and defensive chaos — cannot be down to individual underperformance alone and must reflect systemic failings in preparation and tactical direction. The 1-1 draw against Chelsea has crystallised a season-long pattern of complaints, with fans questioning what actually happens on the training pitch and rejecting Slot's attempts to deflect blame onto injuries and transition periods.
Liverpool Fans Demand Slot's Sacking After Disappointing Draw
Following Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, frustrated supporters are calling for manager Arne Slot to be sacked, citing poor team performance and lack of tactical coherence despite a strong start to the match. The negativity intensified after half-time adjustments failed to secure a win, with fans expressing deep dissatisfaction about the team's display and questioning whether Slot is capable of turning the season around.
Fans Demand Manager's Removal After Stalemate
Liverpool and Chelsea supporters are directing intense criticism at the opposing manager, with fans calling for their sacking following the 1-1 draw and questioning whether the team can avoid a league collapse under their continued leadership. The frustration centres on tactical decisions and the manager's perceived failure to organise the side effectively during a crucial part of the season.

"Those were loud boos too, he's lost the support of Anfield now completely "
The Rio sub was just so bizarre. I get that he’s only 17 but every time he’s on the ball he scares the living daylights out of whoever is unfortunate enough to have to defend him. But if the rest of the team are playing well then okay, take the kid off, but Cody Gakpo was just SO anonymous and ineffective that it made no sense to keep him on the pitch, especially after being offside even though he could see the line he had to keep onside in. How can basic decisions like that be so wrong?
💯. +
His tonedeaf dumbass will think the boos weren't meant for him
As Rio is running off the pitch the booing starts. You can see Arne draw Rio in and start talking to him. It's sad but I really do think he was telling Rio 'hey man don't let the boos get you down' thinking the boos were for Rio. Thankfully the crowd immediately went back to chanting Rio a few times to let Rio know the boos were not for him, and let Slot know who was being booed. It will be interesting to see what he says in the presser if the boos at the substitution are brought up.
They’re not booing they’re saying ri-oooooo
"Rio I had to take you off as the crowd weren't happy with you"
Yep, the Rio sub and the end has shown the matchgoing fans have turned - if FSG don't take that as a sign, they're just as useless.
Really hoping that a correlation can be drawn between the boos today and the success of the ticket protests. I'm hoping the ticket win shows that they're not tone deaf completely. +
I think the club would be wise to not listen to some fans booing a completely reasonable decision lol
Ok, even if for arguments sake Rio being subbed off was reasonable. Everything else also calls for a sack. And I hope the board listens to the fans and not an Arne fan boy like you.
"The boos said it all. Arne Slot has genuinely lost the attending fans. He's actually a moron "
If we lost these fans because of this decision, it would be a massive net positive for the club lol

Don't you enjoy all the xg,xgoal, xoffsides and shit??Edward and hughes a having a time of they life seeing that 📉📈📉📈📉📈📉📈📉📈📉📈 📈📉📈📉📈.. +
Pictures of Slot with hair.
Edwards is leaving by all accounts and Hughes is max staying another year, why do you think they care about anything other than themselves and being proved right
My suspicion is they will point to the fact that he hasn’t had half of a first team fit all season. And hasn’t had a full bench either. They’ll point to the fact that he lost a 30 goal a season machine in Salah but hasn’t had a replacement yet. No fit right backs. No fit strikers. People complain on here about Gakpo but he’s the only available player for that position. We’re never going to rush Rio in after what happened to Baj and other young players. Ekitike didn’t have any rotation cover in his first year in the prem and look how that turned out. It’s been an incredibly unlucky season. I still don’t think he’s the man for the job, but you did ask.
I don't get why there is this image that we played Baj too much. He barely played 500 minutes as a whole for us before getting injured. Also, Ekitike's injury certainly isn't because his minutes weren't managed. He played less minutes than any of our attackers bar Isak. And he didn't started when Isak was fit for a stretch for like 5 games. Like reports have said, our training has dropped off a cliff and we are seeing the results of that
I believe the academy was pushing our youngsters almost as hard as the seniors at that time. That doesn’t happen anymore.
corrupt data or they are reading it wrong
No one's confirming he'll still be here, there was always going to be an end-of-season review to confirm his fate. I think it's 70-30 he goes.
I can only imagine after Jota's death that FSG have given the entire team and managers a free pass as a 'take as much time as you need. Your job will be safe.' Only thing I can think of.
That Klopp was the real reason this worked and that they're really just clueless
"No he is not and has said so. But nothing has changed, and that’s honestly why I want him gone. I understand he has limited tools at his disposal without the best squad construction. But we’ve not"
If he needs all the players available all the time he needs a better philosophy and style.  Under Klopp even without key players we could win big games due to style and philosophy.
Limited toold after spending over 400 million is wild.. However I agree with that statement. Isak was a terrible deal especially when we wasted so much time on his pursuit instead of getting another CB and destroying midfielder. However even when he had had tools at his disposal he has fucked it up. Several instances of wrong substitutions whether it be timing or wrong player coming on or off. Then the continuation of playing Jones at RB when frimpong is fit and playing is absolutely absurd, I have no understanding why he continues to do this. Yeah limited tools I agree, but even when he's had the tools he doesn't know how to get the best out of him. He's just not cut out for the job. I've seen enough of him now and it never gets better.
We've not improved for the past 15 months
The difference is I don’t know how the team is supposed to get better at football training 2-3 days a week.
I mean that’s the same thing that Slot said tbf. But if you’re a team with our quality, then you have to put players in positions to succeed to give us the best chance to win games. And I can 100% say that he has not done that whatsoever this season. And that’s unacceptable.
Exactly, he was praised last season for being able to switch during the game and this season we're unable to switch between games, even between different parts of the season!
That’s a hollow excuse, squad construction. Is it ideal right now? Certainly not. But this team is failing in the most rudimentary ways - fitness, effort, basic technical skill, cohesion, and, most glaring, any semblance of being able to improve. It’s groundhog’s day every single match and we’re Bill fucking Murray.
I agree with you. It’s one thing to not have the right players, but they’re not doing the basics correct as you said. Some horrendous stats like fewest tackles, lowest distance ran - it doesnt take skill to put a tackle and some effort in. That’s why fans were excited once Macca started tackling and why opinions on Dom have been generally positive. We are just not playing with enough intensity in the most intense league in the world and that’s on the manager.
Fewest tackles in the league is so incredible to me. Also makes Maccas fall, as one who had i think the most at certain points for mids, really felt +
Yeah my biggest frustration with Slot is he doesn't adapt. Keeps playing the same shite football, keeps picking the same players. Refuses to play the kids. Bro is a manager who refuses to manage.
"100% on Slot, it doesnt matter who plays where its the system and the coaching thats the issue!"
Isak hasn't played much this season and when he plays hardly ever has a touch too.
Isak who played there also always have least touch. Its all on slot system, he isolated his striker with dont create enough chance for them
This was a problem last season as well, but people just chalked it to Darwin being shit. Slot has had trouble getting his striker involved his entire time with us.
Yep and he played Diaz there who also struggled with it.
Diogo struggled there as well. RIP Jota.
We have Isak, one of the best CFs on earth last season, and he's not getting any touches either. It's not Cody, it's the system.
Isak will never succeed in the current system and that’s the god honest truth
Well. The thing is in Newcastle the wings were pacy as fuck and would keep back lines honest which in fact did leave more space for Isak to get a touch deep and then attack into the box. But again Slot has in fact been found out because all everyone does is stand still and recycles possession. It won’t help Isak, Hugo or Florian to play like that since all of them really thrived on the counter in their previous teams ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yep, Dom didn't complete a single forward pass in the first half. Because he was constantly having to drop deep to get involved in the build up play
If you drop deep you should have more avenues to play the ball forward but if the entire team is just standing still then you’re shit outta luck. Regardless of you are prime Pirlo or Dom dropping deep.
