How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

Captivating Talking Points
Lots of reasons like biased refereeing and blatant corruption. A hand in the back is fine against us but it’s a problem when we do it. A stamp on the Achilles is a foul when Simon’s does it but fine when Havertz and Foden do it. Impeding the keeper is fine when Saliba and Gabriel do it but it’s a problem when Hermansen pushes his own defender into Van de Ven. Just the way you described the Delap …

I do not understand this narrative that the commentators just stated “10 years ago Tottenham came here trying to win the league. It ultimately went to Leicester.” We weren’t even close to them! All we did late that season was try to apply a little pressure when they were *already* the runaway favorites. Ppl talk about it like we were in a proper title race when we NEVER WERE. Challenger I understand it's how the rule is written, but Cucurella getting a yellow for a foul in the box, but it not being a penalty by mere milliseconds just feels like rubbing salt in the wound at this point lmao
Believer The commentators I have absolutely refuse to give Enzo credit there, acting like that was easily saveable. Not the best movement by Kinsky, but that is not straightforward at all
I love it when a commentator talks shit about something (Kinsky's good footwork) only to be proven wrong 5 minutes later when that exact thing leads to a goal. Fucking clowns most of them.

Challenger Something genuinely wrong with that lad. Can’t seem to help himself
Believer Assuming they're telling the truth that the corner hadn't been taken, it's technically the correct decision. Can't have a penalty (or free kick) for something that happens while the ball is out of play.
This proves the subs hate boner for Tel. He wasn’t great today but to say he puts in little effort is disingenuous at best, and a dog whistle at worst. The kid tries things more than anyone else.

Spurs Fans Rage at Season-Long Refereeing Anomaly

Penalty Row Mars Chelsea Draw as Ref Controversy Erupts
Emerging

Carragher's Commentary Divides Fans Over Narrative Control
Controversial
Fans are split over Jamie Carragher's co-commentary during the Chelsea-Tottenham stalemate, with critics arguing he's pushing a predetermined narrative about Spurs rather than analysing what's actually happening on screen, whilst others defend his point about poor defensive standards plaguing the Premier League. The debate centres on whether he's calling out a genuine problem or selectively applying standards depending on which team is involved.
Tottenham Fans Furious Over Denied Late Penalty
Emerging
Spurs supporters are convinced they should have been awarded a penalty in the closing stages after Marc Cucurella was booked for a foul in the box, with fans arguing the referee's inconsistency cost them a chance to equalise in what finished 2-1 to Chelsea. The debate centres on whether the ball was actually in play when the contact occurred and whether a booking without a corresponding penalty represents a clear refereeing error.
Chelsea Fans Weigh Up Europa and Conference League Options
Emerging
With Chelsea's top-four hopes fading, supporters are debating whether a Europa League or Conference League finish would be preferable, with some arguing that European football—even lower-tier competitions—offers valuable pitch time for fringe players like Acheampong, Delap, and Hato rather than no European football at all. There's underlying frustration about injury management and squad rotation, with fans recognising that even Conference League football could benefit younger talents if the club approaches it strategically.
Chelsea and Spurs Fans Clash Over Controversial Referee Calls
Fans are furious about a series of inconsistent and allegedly soft foul decisions throughout the match, with both sets of supporters convinced they've been on the receiving end of biased officiating. Despite Chelsea dominating early and establishing a 2-0 lead through Enzo Fernández and Andrey Santos, Tottenham clawed back through Richarlison but ultimately fell short, prompting fan frustration that the comeback effort—though spirited—arrived far too late to salvage the result. Supporters are venting over another dropped opportunity for either side, with the match ending 2-1 and leaving both squads contemplating what might have been had they capitalised on their respective moments of control.
Spurs Fans Fear Relegation Battle as West Ham's Final Game Looms
Emerging
Tottenham supporters are anxiously discussing their precarious league position and analysing whether they can survive the drop through results involving West Ham and Everton, with some resigned to potential relegation whilst others cling to mathematical survival hopes. The discussion reveals deep concern about their defensive record and ability to pick up points in their remaining fixtures, particularly against Everton, with West Ham's outcome becoming a crucial external factor in their fate.

"Tel makes me want to slam my head into a wall sometimes "
Tel is basically the only player in the front 4 with a semblance of creativity atm without Maddison. He was extremely frustrating but also could have had an early goal and made some things happen. That last chance Sarr and I think Richy behind him were miles off anyways.
I know it’s hard to fault him too much when he put more of himself in that game than arguably anyone else on the pitch but man that end product and decision making needs so much work. We had so many good positions in the box just for him to send a slow pass to the keeper or bom it over the net instead of looking for a player in space or recycling it until we do.
Sometimes? We'd have been better off without him ever arriving. Double agent. Cost us the Super Cup. Might have got us relegated. Net negative. Kolo might be worse. We have better kids.
There’s a player there. But he’s more a 9 mentally…so selfish. Cannot see anything or anybody other then the net. He is incapable of seeing any teammates within the box.
Tel should not be starting. I know RKM gets a lot of shit but I think he'd be better on the wing.
If we had even a semblance of a bench this guy will get 0 minutes. He is so so immature- just blasting it everywhere
We are going to end up getting relegated because Tel tried a bicycle kick clearance in our own box
Our best attacker, the lads 21 though +
Beyond shit. No potential. Get rid immediately
*All the time. One of the most wasteful players you will ever watch. He cannot play at this level. This sub deluded itself into thinking he’s that not bad simply because of how awful our attacking options are. He should be playing for a bottom third of the table Ligue 1 side.
"This team just lacks so much technical quality, if we stay up a total remaking of the squad is needed "
If we stay up the blessing is no expectations next season. We can get rid of the problem players, keep the actual leaders (Madders and....???) and the young core. And then we can spend let De Zerbi get his players.
Maddison came on revived the ball and turned with it and dribbled into space. I was like I haven’t seen that from anyone on this team in like a year. It’s insane. +
I'm glad people are finally realising it. I was complaining about this in Anges first 10 games. People really forget how bad we were before and after him
I play a lot at a very low level, but I am usually somewhere in the middle of talent level of the group. When I have the ball at my feet, if I see good players ahead of me, I play the right ball assuming they can handle it. If I see all donkeys ahead of me, I really have to think about how to play the ball to give them a chance of success, and more often than not, the right choice is going backwards.
That is the biggest issue that has gone unaddressed since Mourinho, really. Under peak-Poch, we had technically gifted players all over the pitch. Teams are not afraid at closing us down hard because they assume qe dont have the touch on the ball to make them pay for overcommitting. This is why we seemingly spend half of every match, for the last 7 years, being pinned to the sideline with nowhere to go.
Our midfield has to be the least technical in the league. Most Championship teams have more technical players at DM and CM
I was just saying this to my group and really many of those players need to move on. We need to spend a huge amount of money sadly to become just become competitive and find who's been sticking pins in dolls of our players.
Well guess what, we are getting even worse players in the championship
Passing accuracy has been lacking for a couple years now. To me it’s lack of concentration. No pro should be consistently missing the easy passes like our squad does. So frustrating.
Seems like our scouts have been ultra focused on getting athletic players rather than technical ones. Missing a touch of class in nearly every position on the pitch, but we have a bunch of players who will run for days. It’s odd
"I genuinely loathe the idea of conspiracy theories. But the fact that the ref didn't give a penalty after the ball was in the air and whistled. Like, come on man."
If that's true, then that means they're doing it for the drama, but no way they want us out of PL as we have a worldwide fan base. So that means Sunday should be called our way. Ok, I will be fully on board with this theory if we get a Pen against Everton.
Will you stop crying about the refs We aren't going down because of the refs (if we go down) it's because of goal tending Just sucked all year.
PGOML didn’t tell the players to play like shit for 70 minutes. They didn’t tell RKM & Tel to be pathetically bad at everything they do. They didn’t tell DeZerbi to stick with Palhinha + Bentancur after halftime when they were both poor and midfield was clearly not working. Yes the refs havnt helped us but they aren’t the reason why we are in relegation
They very clearly wanted the relegation battle to come down to the last match day.
They’re setting it up for maximum drama on the final day. They probably want Arsenal lifting the trophy and our players crying on the pitch on the final day news reel
The foul continued after the ball had been kicked.... its a stonewall penalty.
Oh shut up
The laws say you can’t have a foul if the ball isn’t in play only misconduct.
Grow up. How many “conspiracy theories” have turned out to be true just in the past few years? There was a fucking island of billionaire pedos mate and you think it’s beyond the realm of possibility that Spurs have been stitched up?
Release the PGMOL files one of them is already a druggie and a nonce so what the fuck else is up in that shite hole.
"Hot take: Table don't lie. If we go down it's deserved. If we stay up it's deserved. After 38 games, you are what your record says you are. "
So what you’re saying is Arsenal deserved to win the league.
yes they did. Like it or not they were the best team this yeat +
Did I just read a sensible comment on Reddit
If you find a team with this kinda budget anywhere near the relegation zone, staying up is undeserved
☝🏻👍🏻 +
Injury FC not considered at all in deserved placement? Surely we could have gotten a measly point somewhere if our injury luck wasn’t so shocking.
Was last season also due to injury luck? Anyway, should review and work out how to reduce the injuries
If we stay up it's deserved is a wild take. Fact is we have given relegation performances weekly. We deserve to go down, as we did last season.
Why is it a wild take? Whoever finishes 17th will have done just enough to stay up, and therefore deserves to stay in the league. Yes we did play poorly most of the season, but as it stands now, three teams were even worse. If Spurs somehow stay up, it's because they were better than Wolves, Burnley and West Ham over the course of 38 games. That's a well earned 17th place. Nothing to be happy about but it's Premier League worthy.
The math is the math. If we go down or stay up, it's deserved. To that point, even if we don't get a point we could still stay up. I'm not optimistic. We've been shit and injured all season. A bad combination. But today id rather be us than Spam.
"Ill take Europa League. But id rather go 1match/wk than play… Conference league…."
Yeah those UECL games just drag or it feels like an opportunity to get embarrassed because the team is sleep walking into the game.
Disagree. I want conference league Mudryk back
As a united fan I think it probably worked to our benefit in rhe second half of the season but it was really boring not playing a match mid week when all the other games were on. Obviously we took it to the extreme by getting knocked out first game in both cup competitions lol but I would take conference league over no European games all day
Need an extra competition considering how big the squad is. We have already won it so def a chance for fringe players to get minutes and our main players def shouldn't be making the away trips
Why not play the youth team?
Entirely depends on what the squad looks like at the end of the Summer for me. If we can't shift/loan out a lot of the younger players then the Conference League will give them good game time.
Nah - you can use it for young lads, if you lose you lose but that's always some playground for them.
we aint beating sunderland away. we're getting 1 game a week
If nothing else, it was at least an opportunity to get minutes in the B team. If we can instead get minutes into the youth, there is some positive +
Honestly man😭

I genuinely loathe the idea of conspiracy theories. But the fact that the ref didn't give a penalty after the ball was in the air and whistled. Like, come on man.

I've seen virtually every club get awarded a penalty that wasn't stonewall. I've never seen a club get absolutely nothing for obvious fouls like Tottenham this season. PGMOL genuinely does look corrupt as fuck.
