How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

Captivating Talking Points
Moyes’s stubbornness has cost us not just today but every game since Chelsea. Terrible defensive setup with no outball. Ndiaye is bang out of form and gassed but doesn’t get subbed. Keane and Tarky honestly I would happily sell at this point. We need to be bloody ruthless in the summer or we will continue with being pathetically mediocre.

@Everton All these games without a win – it’s your fault, Moyes. You’ve got no balls and you just stick with your little clique of players. Ndiaye and KDH get everything wrong and play the full 90 minutes. There’s no European football anymore, and you never wanted it anyway!

Believer 11 home wins in 2 years. 11 in 38. Not exactly European standard is it. Also I'm not Moyes out but if there are better managers out there I'd like to think the board are speaking to them and being proactive.
Yes the turn is valid. Keane and Tarky have shipped around 2-3 goals a game they play together. He has squandered huge money on players he doesn’t play (Aznou from Bayern, Dibling, Rohl until Gueye got injured). Players like Ndiaye and McNeil have been bang out of form and gassed but don’t get subbed while every manager we play makes very proactive changes to win games.

Keane and/or tarky worth keeping as backups because of how much replacements would cost but by no means should either start. And if we can get any decent manager, pull the trigger NOW

Poor touch from O'brien, fine, but another example where having a CB with a bit mote pace would've spared us from conceding. Ive no issues with Keane and Tarky as individual players, but they're not a good pair.

Every manager has to take gambles. Even looking at Carlo at Milan. He started a bang out of form Inzaghi in the 2007 UCL final because he had a feeling it might work. Inzaghi scored two. Moyes would trust Keane-Tarky and leave JOB on at RB instead of moving JOB centrally and chancing Patto or Garner. Then wonder why he lost.

There is so little pace in this squad, and some of the players look really tired. I am definitely not part of the Moyee out crowd, but why the fuck can't the likes of George, Alacaraz, Armstrong get a look in? Fan Narratives
Sunderland's Deserved Win Overshadows Everton Collapse
Emerging Controversial
Fans across both sides acknowledge Sunderland's commanding 3-1 victory as thoroughly merited, with Everton supporters gracious in defeat and Sunderland supporters celebrating their push towards European football qualification. The match is notably framed around a touching pre-match tribute to Bradley Lowery, which unified supporters from both clubs in mutual respect despite the competitive result.
Referee Decisions Spark Resigned Frustration Among Fans
Fans are reacting to the match with a mixture of dark humour and resignation, largely shrugging off the officiating decisions rather than launching into detailed complaints. The overwhelmingly brief, comedic responses suggest supporters have accepted the outcome with wry acceptance rather than outright anger at the officials.
Everton Fans Despair Over Europe Dreams Evaporating
Emerging Controversial
Everton supporters are devastated after throwing away their European qualification hopes with a disastrous late collapse against Sunderland, with fans questioning whether the team's poor defensive discipline and repeated injury-time capitulations justify any claim to continental football. The overwhelming sentiment is one of embarrassment and frustration at squandering what should have been an achievable target, with many arguing the squad simply does not deserve European football based on their limp performance when it mattered most.
Debate Over Inconsistent Form and Commitment Issues
Controversial
Fans are divided over a player's recent dramatic loss of form—particularly his goal drought spanning over 20 games—with some suggesting he's mentally checked out or lost confidence, whilst others defend him as fundamentally consistent and argue external factors are affecting his performances. The discussion centres on whether he's genuinely trying to improve or has already made a decision to move on.
Everton and Sunderland Fans Debate Controversial Tackle
Controversial
Supporters are divided over whether a challenge during the match was genuinely dangerous or exaggerated play-acting, with some arguing the tackle looked worse in real time than on review. The discussion reflects the typical tension between viewing angles and retrospective analysis that characterises contentious moments in live football.
Everton's Capitulation at Home Against Sunderland
Controversial
Everton supporters are expressing widespread frustration after a 3-1 defeat at home to Sunderland, with fans criticising the team's poor defensive performance, lack of attacking threat, and inability to capitalise on dropped points from rivals elsewhere. The overwhelming sentiment is one of disappointment at a flat, uninspired display that typifies Everton's inconsistent home form this season.
Everton Fans Criticise Beto's Striking Ineffectiveness
Emerging
Everton supporters vented their frustration at striker Beto's poor performance and lack of impact during the match, with multiple posts highlighting his inability to hold up play or contribute meaningfully in possession. The discourse centred on how substitutions involving the striker — particularly bringing on Barry — appeared to worsen the team's attacking threat and ball retention.
Everton Fans Dissect Coleman's Final Match Blunder
Emerging
With Seamus Coleman's departure imminent, supporters focused on a crucial defensive mistake late in Everton's 3-1 defeat to Sunderland, with many viewing it as a fitting—if unfortunate—final moment for the departing captain. The discussion mixed frustration over his error with broader acknowledgement of his legendary status, whilst also highlighting how the entire defence, including centre-back Jake O'Brien deployed at right-back, had been dismantled throughout the match.
Merlin's Goal Sparks Everton Hope and Frustration
Controversial
Everton fans celebrated Merlin Röhl's opening goal as a rare bright spot in an otherwise dismal team performance, with supporters lamenting that his quality has been largely absent all season and wondering what the club might have achieved had he remained fit and consistent throughout the campaign.
Sunderland Fans Celebrate Le Fée's Spider-Man Mask Goal
Sunderland supporters are fixating on Enzo Le Fée's goal celebration at 81 minutes, where he wore a Spider-Man mask after scoring to make it 2-1, with fans clamouring for broadcasters to have shown the moment and jokingly praising his "magician" performance. The discussion reveals a largely neutral, humorous tone as fans revel in what became a crucial strike in Sunderland's eventual 3-1 comeback victory over Everton.
Sunderland's European Dream Stuns Observers
Emerging
Fans are marvelling at Sunderland's remarkable turnaround from potential relegation favourites to genuine European qualification contenders with just one match remaining in the season. The discussion centres on whether their promotion-season performance ranks among the best in recent Premier League history, with supporters debating comparisons to Leeds United's 2020/21 campaign and other promoted sides.
Brobbey's Physical Dominance Stuns Everton Defence
Emerging Controversial
Fans are marvelling at Brian Brobbey's sheer physical strength and power after his equaliser at Goodison Park, with particular focus on how he physically overpowered Everton defender Tarkowski during the build-up play. The discussion is lighthearted and admiring, with supporters joking that the Dutch striker is built like a heavyweight boxer and essentially unstoppable in the Premier League.
Ndiaye's Poor Form Sparks Moyes Substitution Criticism
Emerging
Everton fans are heavily criticising Iliman Ndiaye's performance and decision-making throughout the match, with particular frustration directed at manager David Moyes for keeping him on the pitch rather than substituting him off. The widespread consensus is that Ndiaye's end product and defensive work have deteriorated significantly since AFCON, turning him into a liability despite his occasional dribbling ability.
Everton Fans Demand Moyes Out After Sunderland Collapse
Emerging
Everton supporters are furious after a humiliating 3-1 home defeat to fellow strugglers Sunderland, with widespread calls for David Moyes's sacking and scathing criticism of the team's defensive performance and overall quality. The loss has intensified existing frustration with Moyes's management, with fans questioning how the club can fall so dramatically after competitive showings against top sides.
Everton Fans Demand Tarkowski and Keane Dropped from Defence
Emerging
Everton supporters are expressing frustration with centre-back James Tarkowski's performance during the 3-1 defeat to Sunderland, with many calling for him to be benched or sold and criticising the partnership between Tarkowski and Keane as fundamentally broken. Fans are debating defensive restructuring for next season, with some advocating for alternative pairings and suggesting the current centre-back pairing should be axed entirely.
Everton's Defensive Collapse Sparks Fan Fury
Everton supporters are expressing deep frustration over a catastrophic defensive display that saw Sunderland run out 3-1 winners, with fans repeatedly highlighting passive, sloppy defending and a complete inability to deal with basic attacking movements in the box. The negativity cuts across multiple issues—poor defending, lack of scoring, and general tactical ineffectiveness—painting a picture of a side that simply fell apart when it mattered.
Sunderland Fans Assess Squad Weakness Ahead of Summer
Emerging
Sunderland supporters are grappling with disappointment after a poor run of form that's exposed the fragility of their squad, with fans accepting a mid-table finish but demanding urgent reinforcements in defence, attack, and wide positions before next season. There's underlying anxiety about attracting quality signings without European football, though some retain perspective from the club's chaotic history and acknowledge the achievement of staying in the top ten when expectations were rock bottom.
Everton Collapse Sparks Frustration and Resignation
Neutral observers and Everton supporters are grappling with a damaging late collapse against Sunderland, with fans torn between frustration at dropped points in a season-defining stretch and weary acceptance of a disappointing run. The mood reflects desperation — supporters recognise one or two wins could have kept European hopes alive, but instead face the prospect of another season fighting relegation form rather than pushing for Europe.
Everton Fans Praise Röhl's Play in Collapse
Controversial
Everton supporters highlighted Merlin Röhl's impressive crossing and movement during the match, with some wishing he'd featured more prominently this season, whilst others critiqued teammates for failing to capitalise on his creative contributions. The discussion reflects frustration at individual brilliance being let down by inconsistent support around him, particularly in a match that ended in a heavy defeat.
Everton Fans Debate Squad Rotation and Defence Overhaul
Supporters are frustrated with repetitive team selection and lack of squad rotation, particularly criticising the use of midfielders out of position and the fatigue of key attacking players like Iliman Ndiaye. The broader discussion centres on urgent defensive recruitment needs — left back, right back, and centre-back reinforcements — with many calling for a complete defensive rebuild rather than short-term fixes.
Sunderland Fans Hail Le Fée After Crucial Goal
Sunderland supporters are celebrating Enzo Le Fée's standout performance and his crucial 81st-minute goal in what proved to be a turning point in their comeback victory. Fans are unanimous in their praise, recognising him as the club's talisman and one of their shrewdest signings this season.
Sunderland Player's Yellow Card Controversy Sparks Outrage
Fans are divided and largely angry over a Sunderland player receiving only a yellow card for a challenge that many believe deserved a red card dismissal. The incident, which occurred early in the match, has divided opinion on whether it was a genuine foul, a dive, or a genuinely dangerous tackle that the referee got wrong.

I appreciate you've shared the data, but I need to be honest: this sample of posts doesn't contain enough substantive football discussion for me to write meaningful analysis in the style you've reques
Fans React With Indifference to Everton Collapse
Neutral observers are offering dismissive, non-committal responses to what appears to be a discussion about the match, with minimal engagement or interest in the wider narrative. The sparse, cynical tone suggests a widespread lack of investment in either team's performance or the wider implications of the result.
Everton Collapse Again as Sunderland Stuns Late
Everton fans are absolutely furious after blowing a 1-0 lead to lose 3-1, with supporters pointing to persistent defensive fragility, lack of attacking quality on the wings, and a pattern of dropping points from winning positions as the core issues. The frustration runs deep—some defend the team's progress under Moyes, but the majority are exasperated by sloppy goals conceded, poor decision-making in crucial moments, and the inability to match their dominance with clinical finishing.
Everton Fans Lament Séamus Coleman's Final Match Humiliation
Emerging
Supporters are expressing heartfelt frustration that club captain Séamus Coleman, seemingly in his final appearance, was not given a proper farewell tribute before Everton collapsed to a 3-1 defeat. Fans are torn between sympathy for the veteran defender having to endure such a poor performance and resignation that this squad's limitations have finally caught up with them.
Everton Fans Call for Iroegbunam Substitution Early
Everton supporters spent the opening exchanges urging David Moyes to remove Tim Iroegbunam from the pitch after he picked up an early yellow card, fearing he'd accumulate a second booking and leave the team short-handed. The broader frustration centred on both Iroegbunam and Jake O'Brien failing to make a meaningful impact on proceedings, with fans demanding tactical changes to stem what would eventually become a heavy defeat.
Sunderland Stun Everton Late as New Stadium Opens
Sunderland mounted a stunning comeback to beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park, with Wilson Isidor sealing a dramatic injury-time winner that had travelling fans and neutrals celebrating a thrilling finish. Liverpool supporters were particularly pleased to see their rivals struggle, while some Everton fans expressed disappointment at the performance despite acknowledging the occasion of the new stadium's opening.
Everton Collapse in Ugly Second-Half Meltdown
Emerging
Everton fans are absolutely furious after blowing a 1-0 lead to lose 3-1 to Sunderland, with the side conceding three goals in the final 45 minutes in what supporters are describing as an embarrassing, painful collapse. The discourse centres on complete defensive failure and poor decision-making, with fans questioning the tactical approach and player commitment in a display they've branded as unacceptable.
Sunderland Fans Divided Over Diarra's Late Game Display
Controversial
Supporters are sharply split on goalkeeper Diarra's performance in Sunderland's 3-1 defeat, with some praising his composure and positioning whilst others criticise his decision-making — particularly regarding the third goal conceded in stoppage time. The mixed reaction reflects frustration at a late collapse that cost points in a tightly-contested midtable battle.
Late Collapse Leaves Fans Devastated and Furious
Controversial
Everton supporters are reeling after surrendering a 1-0 lead to lose 3-1 to Sunderland, with goals conceded in the final stages turning what should have been a morale-boosting result into another heartbreaking defeat. Fans are expressing deep frustration at the team's inability to hold leads, maintain composure, or convert their chances, with many describing the collapse as emblematic of a season marked by repeated, self-inflicted disappointment.
Everton Collapse Late as Fans Vent Frustration
Everton fans are furious after their side conceded three goals in the final stages of a match against Sunderland, with criticism levelled at both the players' lack of defensive resolve and the home crowd's failure to inspire the team when it mattered most. The discussion centres on accusations that the team only showed character when already well beaten, leading to heated debate about accountability across the pitch.
Sunderland Fans Demand Wingers Instead of Makeshift Wide Play
Emerging
Sunderland supporters are criticising the deployment of fullbacks and centre-backs in wide attacking positions, calling for proper wingers to be introduced and questioning why squad alternatives like Talbi and Rigg are left on the bench. The frustration stems from anonymous, ineffective performances on the flanks during the match, with fans arguing basic positional sense would have improved attacking output.

"Sunderland the best promoted team the league has ever seen"

Reading has entered the chat!
@chiefnama790 who? 😂
@chiefnama790No one gives a toss about Reading
Cloughie's Forest 77 up 78 champions.
@EnzAFC That has nothing to do with your original comment 😂
@chiefnama790Reading are not the best promoted side the league has ever seen
Wolves 18/19
@jasonchambers4495that was like 50 years ago and it wasn't the Premier League as well then
@EnzAFC What is your criteria for that assessment?
"11 home wins in 2 years. 11 in 38. Not exactly European standard is it. Also I'm not Moyes out but if there are better managers out there I'd like to think the board are speaking to them and being pr"
There seems to be a massive disconnect between the board vision and the manager. We've had the biggest squad overhaul in years, yet Moyes has barely used Dibling, Aznou, Rohl (until 3 games ago) and George. Moyes is watching these players every day in training so why is he not banging down the door saying we need DESPERATELY need a new RB? Failing to recruit that single position has tanked the entire season as not only has O'Brien offered nothing going forward, it's meant we've had to play the Keane and Tarks together who just leak goals.
I kept defending him because he saved us from relegation hell and made us semi-competitive again. But the more this shit happens the less there is to defend. We're in a position where we at least don't have to be desperate and grasp at straws. So I totally agree, this is the best time to start thinking about the next manager and search patiently. If a great hire falls into our lap I'm down. Thankful to Moyes, but he's only going to get us so far.
At this point surely they must have an idea of whether he's their man or not. He's only contracted to the end of next season.
If the club want to buy and develop young talent (which I want to see), Moyes is not compatible with that.
Pretty much my mindset. We've been dangling around the bottom 3 for years at this point so not being dragged into a fight is an improvement. But the ownership needs to have more ambition and if they stick with moyes he only gets next season to fix it
I'm not Moyes out either by any means but if we can get better then I'm all for it. How we've royally fucked up the end of the season, I do not know. Not good enough.
moyes out is insane, we are 3 points better than last year with a way deeper roster and 1 game left to go +
150m spent to get that though and of that spend only Dewsbury-Hall has become a starter
3 points better than the season where Dyche was fired in January because we were knocking on the relegation door again. Wow, what a fucking thing to celebrate. +
the 'way deeper roster' should read as sarcasm if ur locked in bro i was being sarcastic lol come on
"Europe was absolutely in our hands and we blew it, after being given chance after chance to get points we just don't capitalize."
It’s goals post 80 minutes that have made the difference. I’d love to see someone do some stats on how many leads we’ve lost after 80th minute vs everyone else, because it feels like it’s more of a problem for us. Is it something as simple as we’re not putting in the right conditioning training and the lads are getting tired?
We don't make subs unless goals are already happening Moyes doesn't believe in the idea that subs can be used in any other ways than as a reaction.
The stats are: We are last in number of players used We are last in number of substitutions made
Depth.
I honestly don’t remember the last manager Everton has had that utilized subs. It always seems like the starting XI is locked in for 85+ mins.
Lampard? If not him, then Carlo?
Carlo definitely did. To be fair, though, he also had a solid group of guys off the bench that he could put in at different times (Bernard, Siggurdson, Doucoure, Iwobi, Godfrey, etc) that Lampard and Dyche didn’t have
Carlo feels like the last time we had a relatively well-rounded squad
That’s part of it for sure.
The most rigid squad in the top 5 European leagues, we are genuinely so fucked.
"Not just le fee being spider man at 2-1 the way I was shooting ropes. What a good performance, controlled the game for long periods, Everton provided little threat, think their best chance was the hea"
Even though it would be an incredible achievement considering it’s your first season back in the prem, I still feel it’s too early for Sunderland to have a European campaign. The extra matches really takes a toll on your squad, pretty much every team that don’t have big 6 finances have struggled in the league while trying to balance Europe aswell.
Might well be but you don’t get to pick and choose when you get these opportunities
Yeah playing to not get into Europe would be shambolic haha
Bit gay that celebration what’s that all about what a muppet haha full grown man in a spider man mask embarrassing for me that I’d be fuming if an Everton player done that 😂
Found Green Goblin’s account
Bro is rattled
Man runs PL games and scores winners. Could put on a tutu and pirouette his way to the center circle and I wouldn’t give a fuck
Each to there own funky lot people in the north east
It's not that serious. Grow up
I think Le fee needs to grow up haha
"Give Iraola whatever he wants."
You think Moyes is the problem? Our defence is horrid. Rather save money on getting rid of Moyes and spend it on 2 new CBs and 2 new full backs
Moyes is the one sticking with the same backline even when they ship goals like Sheffield wednesday since start of April
Who else do you want in there?
If the recent links are real then Iraola If not Iraola i would love to take a run at Kieran McKenna, Sebastian Hoeness from Stuttgart, Dino Toppmöller previously at Frankfurt or Inigo Perez from Rayo Vallecano
Assuming he means in our back line, who else starts in that back line for you considering Jarrad’s injured?
Aznou, O'Brien, Tarky and Patterson. Fuck it. We've lost every game anyway. I just want to see some actual fullbacks.
Once Jarrad gets hurt the first change should have been bringing in Jake into the Center and having either Jimmy or Patterson move to Right Back And if Tarky still looks awful then drop him and try Keane next to Jake. And give Aznou some actual minutes at Left or Right Back to see if he has made progress over the past 10months at the club and can handle some minutes
One of the biggest names right now, why would he come to us?
Ancelotti happened lad we can dream +
