How these roles work
Blamed (Causer)
Fans named this player as the direct cause of a negative outcome. Examples: "Maguire gave away the penalty", "Ten Hag's formation cost us". Scores are amplified when the causer is blamed clearly.
Sympathy (Victim)
This player was on the receiving end of something — a foul, a bad decision, being dropped, or let down by teammates. Fans feel for them rather than against them.
Credit (Beneficiary)
Fans gave this player clear credit for a positive outcome — a goal, an assist, a key moment. Includes players who enabled something good to happen. This is the co-winner of a match moment.

Semenyo with a bad run of matches. When the ball goes out to him on the RW you just groan. Why do we have so many technically weak players w/ no first touch, who can't link up with anyone? Tijj, Omar, Semenyo, etc.

Brought Haaland off who was the only one who looked like scoring then didn’t have another shot on target after that. Marmoush shouldn’t be anywhere near a City team.

What can I say: thanks to the team for 17 shots while being a man down. Of course, the game would’ve been more interesting without the red card, but it is what it is. Khusanov is a god in defense, Cherki is a god in attack. I hope Rayan convinced Pep with this performance that he deserves a spot in the starting lineup. I hope Abdukodir proved to Pep that he’s a center-back, not a right-back.

Fan Narratives
Man City Fans Divided Over Team Selection and Mentality
Emerging
Manchester City supporters are sparking debate around tactical decisions and player performance, with particular frustration aimed at how the team performs against stronger opposition and concerns about squad mentality. The discussion reveals mixed sentiment—some fans are defensive of the club whilst others question whether recent changes can address deeper issues in consistency against big matches.
City's Defence Collapses Despite Valiant Ten-Man Effort
Controversial
Manchester City fans are debating a heavy defeat where a red card to Bernardo Silva after 25 minutes left them fighting an uphill battle, with supporters divided between praising the team's effort with reduced numbers and criticising persistent defensive vulnerabilities and a lack of midfield protection that's plagued them all season. The consensus is frustration rather than anger—acknowledgement that eleven men might have competed better, but underlying concern that structural problems in the squad remain unsolved regardless of circumstances.
Pep's Future in Question After Tactical Failures
Emerging
Manchester City fans are furious with Pep Guardiola's management decisions in a recent defeat, with many calling for him to leave in the summer—arguing that his ego and tired tactical approach have cost them silverware and that a fresh start could revitalise the club's challenge. The discussion centres on whether his contract situation and recent losses to rivals, particularly Real Madrid and potentially Arsenal, make this the right moment for both parties to part ways.
Manchester City Fans React with Mixed Reactions
Manchester City supporters are flooding social media with a flurry of largely positive but cryptic responses to a recent performance or result, mixing applause with confusion and laughter. The overwhelmingly emoji-based conversation suggests fans are reacting to something that's left them simultaneously impressed, bewildered, and entertained — though the actual specifics of what sparked this wave of engagement remain buried beneath layers of digital reaction.
City Fans Divided Over Cherki's Future and Selection
Emerging Controversial
Manchester City supporters are locked in debate over whether young talent Cherki is being criminally underutilised on the bench, with some arguing he's one of the team's best performers whilst others question his defensive fitness and consistency. The wider frustration centres on perceived tactical choices and squad management, with fans concerned about the manager's selection decisions and what they believe is wasting a promising player's potential.
Manchester City Performance Sparks Mixed Fan Reactions
Fans are offering a scattered mix of praise and criticism toward Manchester City's recent display, with some celebrating the performance whilst others criticise missed opportunities and overall execution. The largely neutral sentiment suggests the match failed to decisively impress supporters either way—enough quality moments to acknowledge, but enough shortcomings to leave people wanting more.
City fans furious after Madrid knockout exit
Manchester City supporters are venting bitter frustration over Real Madrid's fourth consecutive Champions League knockout victory over them, with many convinced Madrid possess some mystical advantage. Beyond the result itself, fans are equally frustrated by the repetitive nature of the fixture, arguing the constant rematches feel artificially manufactured and have robbed the rivalry of any genuine meaning.
Vini's Controversial Goal and Officiating Questions
Fans are divided over whether Vini's goal was genuinely onside, with several questioning why VAR didn't conduct a thorough review despite the tight marginal positioning. The discussion reflects broader frustration with the refereeing display and Vini's overall conduct during the match, though some confirm he was marginally onside upon review.

"@inshiteni @ManCity Great question on Haaland. No published Opta/FBref analysis shows a clear statistical shift in his shot volume or involvement for early goals vs equalizers. In 2025/26 PL (22G, 102 shots in 29 apps), he averages 3.8 shots/90 consistently across game states. Equalizers like today's often lift team tempo, but his elite output holds steady regardless. "Unbelievable... another fantasy of Pep's...why take out Haaland? when you have to score goals... it's 1-1 or you lose, you're still eliminated. the title is gone, the ucl is gone, on Sunday the cup will be gone too... until now I thought that Pep won these trophies for city but it seems I was wrong, for these trophies we have to thank Pep's wife! while they were together Pep was calm and could think clearly but since they divorced everything is over for Pep, and for us, since then Pep can no longer concentrate on football... we hopes he leaves, we need another manager, if he doesn't leave we will lose years and years without trophies..."
"City doesn't deserve Doku, he is the only one trying on the pitch, also Cherki and Ait-nouri, what a shame, Bernardo buried the team from the begining, and Halland is paralyzed, idk what is happening, but we will not win anything this season"

"Doku I won't forget this performance. Ruben dias on the other hand... "
What about Khusanov? Brilliant! MVP for me +
What's to remember? Doku producing fuck all again? Another 0goal 0 assist contribution? He has 1 goal and 4 assist for the entire 2025/2026 season btw. The amount of COPIUM you guys are on is insane.
You do realize without him this team creates nothing right?.. If your striker was not lounging at the back post behind defenders and attack the ball he'd have scored 3 minimum this fixture.
we still produced nothing. He still did fuck all. he has produced 1 goal and 4 assist for the entire 2025/2026. If that is your idea of "creating" idk what to tell you. Delusional hyperbole.
You want him to get past 3 defenders without help? Pep fucked it playing orilley inverting the first leg. I promise you not many players create a goal from where that goal came from today
I want the playerbase to stop coping he is good. I will call him good when he contributes more then 0 goals/0 assist in 2 legs vs RM, and 1 goal 4 assist in the entire 2025/2026 season. Man has produced fuck all but our budget bench is so shit and underperforming we arent calling it out.
Who do you suppose created that goal if he produced fuck all. I think you're too caught up with black and white G/A with him.. He's the only player bar cherki that makes anything happen
I see it in the loses and the fact that we 1. arent scoring and 2. arent winning. He has no impact on that and is not the deciding factor in any game.
If you genuinely think doku has no impact then you don't see the intangibles
I took a shit today and that contributed as much to the RM tie as doku did.
"Only positives are cherki, khusanov, and doku. Ait-nouri can get in there too."
Big Don was freaking amazing today and so was nunes. +
Rodri deserves credit as well he was our whole midfield most of the game. Looks like he is getting close to his best level and hopefully we can lock down that extension for him. +
Khusanov man, incredible. Future captain for this club. Was incredible. +
I think Haaland would've been there too. Mans was tracking back all the way to our box to give us an extra player there.
Yet Cherki is going to get benched next game.
and doku. reijnders foden marmoush! in you go! StaBiLitY! +
Bernardo! Stability! Control! +
Nah he's good, focus on reijnders, savinho, foden - absolutely an insult to gundo, kdb era... what cna they do, fault is boards
Cherki's best game I feel. Guy tried everything. +
Didn't stop running as well
"Yes we will. 2 bad years maybe it was needed"
Our last stretch of “bad” seasons was the 3 from 2014-2017. That included the last two years of Pellegrini and the first year of Pep. Wild it’s been THAT long
I think it was to get rid of all the cannon fodder fans who expected us to win every game and every trophy.
Worth the dip to get rid of the dipshits
My sentiments exactly. Too many idiots bringing the club down.
Arsenal fan here (I come in peace). Years of winning nothing did not work to get rid of our idiots.
Let’s finish the season strongly and lay the groundwork for next season. Khusanov needs to be in the heartbeat of the defence. Pep needs a way where he can field Cherki as an attacking mid with Doku, Haaland, and Semenyo in the front 3. +
Hope we play our hearts out against Arsenal in the cup +
Yes and in the fa cup v liverpool as well
Dont need semenyo starting savio Is better than him
You been snorting verses of crack lad?
"I’m going to say this right now. Haaland needs to fully realize that the Carabao Cup is the "Stay Humble" final. Yes, the Carabao Cup is absolutely the least important of the four primary competitions"
They just hesitate at every opportunity to send a cross or a diagonal thru the middle. Both offside goals were a product of this. Haaland has to do better with his chances.
I agree. I said it in another comment on this thread. But Haaland has reached a boiling point. He’s been frustrated for years not receiving the ball decisively when open or separated from defenders. This did not just start 2-3 months ago. It’s been brewing for a long time if you’ve closely paid attention to his body language off the ball.
He can’t complain when he doesn’t makes runs anymore.
Not true. There were like one or two passes into free space the entire game. Madrid created way more chances.
He will do his best to get 10 touches when we need him the most +
He looked better tonight. His goal was a bit clunky. But being down to 10 men actually helped him. Particularly with Silva being off the pitch not slowing down play. Saturday is a big legacy day for Haaland. +
In the past 3 games whenever the crosses were made he was out of position
That’s an accumulation of years of not knowing when the ball is actually going to be played to him. I started saying this back in October and November. Haaland looked absolutely fed up making run after run and not receiving the ball. He’s human and I think he’s fed up with this possession at all costs system.
He needs to adapt to the team at times Not always and not all are capable to making KDB esque passes
You can't adapt to chaos.
"dOkU pLaYeD wElL Dude produced yet another record breaking 0 goal, 0 assist game. He can add it to the list of "I did fuck all again" He has 1 goal and 4 assist for the entire 2025/2026 PL season y"
Nah why are we hating on doku 🙂‍↔️
cause the last time he contributed to a goal pep had hair.
After you wipe your tears, see that he actually got an assist this game.
No he didnt. Add it to the list of 0 contribution games.
What do you mean no he didn't? Did Haaland not score a goal from his pass?
Find me the registered assist. You can't cause it isnt. Cope
I'm the one coping. Right.
Glad you admit it. Telltale sign was thinking 0 goal 0 assist doku is good. First step to recovery. +
If pep didn’t start Savio last game semenyo or even Cherki are putting 2 doku assists in the net in the first 20 mins. The hell you on about
You mean just like he did this game? Oh wait, no he didnt. He did fuck all and produced another trademarked "0 goals , 0 assist" game. 1 goal and 4 assist for the entire 2025/2026 season btw. What a STAR. Someone call messi and ronaldo and tell them to watch out. At this pace he will get to 50% of their stats in the year 3492.

We can't really blame the ref, yeah one or two bad decisions but we should've been scoring those chances.
