Fans Criticise VAR's "Clear and Obvious" Decision Making
Football fans are frustrated with VAR reviews that take excessive time to reach decisions, arguing that if a call requires several minutes to determine, it cannot genuinely be "clear and obvious" and should default to the on-field decision. Fans are frustrated with recent offside rulings that disallowed goals based on a player's arm being in an offside position, arguing that since you cannot score with your arm, it should not count towards determining offside. Captivating Moments
Finally able to watch that wild game. Went from thinking Burnley are awful and we finally get an easy game, to panic mode real quick. Captivating Moments
Win is all that matters but we really make it as hard as possible. First half, we had so many good situations, and just don't execute, and then concede after 0 threat all half. Actually think the first half performance was largely good, but just need to be clinical. City have had so many wins were they are completely mid but just take a chance. Second half, we came out so slow, and that's been a w…

Sack Frank back in November or early December, bring in a permanent coach and back them with 3-4 signings in January and this isn't an issue. Mismanagement at every turn once again from those trusted to run the club. Levt, Vinai, Lange, the Lewis family... every single one of them is hopeless at making effective decisions. EDIT: Someone thought this was so controversial they quietly smashed the down arrow. Because the alternative is going so well?

Dropping Vicario is the absolute dumbest thing i keep hearing from people on here. Who do we bring in? Austin? Kinsky? Kinsky has made a massive error every single time he has been in a shirt leading to us conceding. Twice ive seen Kinsky get down from a 35 yard "Shot" on the ball bounces through his hands ffs. Vicario made 2 incredible saves today that saved us from a drubbing and could do nothing for the 2 goals that did go in. Vicario being removed is absolutely pointless.

Remember that we have lost 13 games this season ( though it feels like more). Need to lose another 9 to get to 22 losses like last season. That is how bad it was last season. We were bloody lucky to not get relegated last season and the only reason we didn’t is because the bottom 3 were even worse than us!
We’re going down. I’ve said it since the beginning of the year. The players are not good enough to compete in the Premier League. Some of them were when the arrived, but the league has got better and is above them now. We missed on every recruitment opportunity for an entire decade now, coach, management, and players, and everyone is surprised this is happening. This is what happens to clubs when they’re mismanaged from the top to bottom for a decade. It’s done guys, the club will never be the same because of it. Lewis and Levy killed it out of their own greed
Scary shit is that I can't see where our next win will come from. Wolves? Hell, we always lose to them even at our best. Every team is itching to play us at the moment.
Im convicned the big players are purposely trying to get us sent down so they get sold. Think of it from their point of view. The Europa was pretty lucky but it was a chance for the owners to really kick on and invest in the team. They didnt so if you are VDV, Romero, Udogie etc who are wanted by top clubs, and the board wont sell you, what do you do? Its not like they ate on massive monet comparatively, they arent likely to win anything in their tenure at Spurs, so why stick around? The board wont invest, you have to play every game for managers who dont have a clue and a board who only care about profits. Any good player who is signed for us is literally wasting their career. They have shown enough for big clubs to want them, now its just a matter of time for them to get their transfer and since it might mean 3 to 5 years better to push the club into it. How can we have been so close to relegation last season but the owners didnt strengthen the team? Its insanity, they have lost champs league football from next season onwards, Im actually wondering if Levy has got us in such a great financial situation that we dont need even premiership football as its genuinely insane how they have let this happen. Even in the summer, they should have really spent but maybe they are literally allergic to spending, lile they cant physically do it? Who knows but this is madness and why should we bother with this rubbish? I was enjoying my day as was my father then we come together to get wound up watching that. I feel sorry for anyone who has a season ticket.

Scary thing is you have to add in that refs are actively going against us too and when teans who have nowt to play for in 5 or so games time will pick and choose who they play well against. Much like when Leicester won the league there will be worldies against us.
All a part of the "long-term" plan. You can't tell me this isn't some Vinai Arsenal-based scheme. Don't sign enough cover for the injuries; loan out every single young player just in case, so we have no depth. They'll literally do everything wrong and then try to justify it. It's hard for me not to want the club to get relegated just so they can actually face the consequences of their actions. A window of just Conor Gallagher when we were staring relegation in the face is worse than anything in the 20 years of Levy. Even in the season we didn't sign anyone, at least we already knew we were good.

I’m not a Burnley fan, but the officiating in this match was absolutely terrible. Two clearly good goals disallowed for no reason. Burnley def deserved the 3 points after that incredible fightback. Premier League is just so unfair especially to some of the weaker clubs, or even biased to help City and Arsenal. Like United’s 3rd goal vs City was never in a million years offside.

Well, a win is a win and that is the most important thing to write here. The Bees so good in the first half and really cruising, but the unfortunate own goal right at the end of the first half from Michael and then a deflected goal, again off Michael, right at the beginning of the second suddenly threw the game into the balance. Luckily, after being pulled back to 3-3, Mikkel just about made the game safe for us, but we really did ride our luck at times. At least we did not lose like we did last week at home to Brighton. All in all a welcome win, but nothing for faint hearts! COYB!!!🐝🐝🐝
The worst thing about VAR is that it actively TRIES to disallow goals. It’s supposed to be used to identify clear and obvious errors from the on pitch officials, yet controversially (and in my opinion incorrectly) disallows two goals. The offside one is the biggest joke, because guaranteed if a player scored with the part of the body that was given as offside, they’d probably find a way to classify that has handball. Football was better without VAR.
Absolute corruption....VAR took 5 minutes to over turned the refs decision....taking 5 minutes to decide in itself is absolute evidence that it cant be deemed clear and obvious...there should be a new rule for VAR after this 60 second limit on deciding then it cant possibly be ' clear and obvious ' so revert back to the on field decision...if that game yesterday was a big team come back it would of been deemed comeback of the decade and it would NOT of been overturned by VAR , the club needs to make a big fuss about for future smaller team robberys
Complete joke these refs the offside was close I’ll give yous that but barnes goal at the end how on earth is that handling the ball? It’s become a parody of football, I used to watch other teams play but now I don’t because of how boring those games are. Every premier league game has multiple wrong decisions. Pisstake and I’m not even a Burnley fan

I don't mind losing when it's fair and equal but not when the officials help the other team to win, that ref today was biased as hell, how he gave free kicks to Brighton for soft challenges, but challenges on forest were ignored, Brighton should of had a player sent off and two penalties awarded to forest, if all challenges for both teams were fair, but no, we can't be fair to both teams 🤬
I think the sooner we are confirmed as relegated the better for the club. We should start thinking and planning for championship football and we be the better for it. Hanging on with our fingertips is like scarping your nails down a blackboard. Accept where we are and get on with it.
Forest were the far better team, so many bad decisions by the officials today screwed forest over, that first goal shouldn't of counted, a Brighton player should of got red carded, two fouls on forest players in Brighton box, 6 or 7 times forest got a break away on goal, only for the ref to blow his whistle for fun,,,, but it's forest, can't have them in the Prem 🤷

Soucek became the leading Czech scorer in Premier League history by 2 with that goal, so it probably meant something to him. Especially when you consider how good Patrick Berger was. Who was a Liverpool player and that was his home ground. A bit of personal history, with the record and the venue.
Will Isak be a like for like replacement for Salah when he’s back? Because he’s not a winger, Slot likes Gakpo and Wirtz is rubbish on the right. I’d personally go for a 4-4-2, but make the midfield a diamond, Gravenberch at the back, then Szobozlai and Mac Allister, Wirtz just behind the front two of Ekitike and Isak.
Level with Man Utd in fourth? Last time I checked, Liverpool moved up to 5th with this win, behind United on goal difference, and United having a game in hand. Honestly the pro scouse agenda from SSN is genuinely funny. What absolute nonsense they write. Anything for a positive spin on this shower who capitulated after spending £500m in the summer. There is and has never been any such thing as "joint 4th" in the history of the league...until its Liverpool. Brilliant.
On any other day, we would have lost this game. Thankfully West Ham are woeful! Cody Crap-po needs to get as far away from this club as he can. He is absolute shite and why does Slot keep playing him. Yet more calamity defending, resembling an under 10s game at times. Captain fantastic giving away yet another goal. Pathetic defending for the their first goal. How on another there is this narrative, that’s he is one of the best ever is beyond a joke! Comparing him to the likes of Ferdinand, Terry, Vidic etc is criminal! I really give up with this team. Absolutely woeful.
@HonestTom1892 hes literally the only person to ever give rio a game in football. he developed loads of young players at az and feyenoord. he helped develop last seasons young player of the year winner. hes bought kerkez age 21, leoni whos 18, that new french center back for next season whos a kid. hes just bought wirtz and ekitike who are both young. hes also given games to nyoni, connor bradley this season. both kids. not to mention last season he gave game time to quansah and elliot. saying he doesnt develop young talent is the opposite of reality and theres no proof of it whatsoever. your all just looking for reasons to hate at this point. thats 6 wins in our last 7 games despite all the injuries. things are going ok. not great. but ok. but saying the manager thats giving rio his chance in the team isnt going to ever play him is so dumb you might as well just give up on knowing anything about football. the boy is 17 and cant defend. no he should not be starting every week you insane people.

I think you are too critical, you don't take into account the quality of the team Man U are playing. You expect too much, and just to remind you, Carrick has only been incharge for 7 games. Alex Ferguson took 3 years to produce a winning team. Wind your neck back in, and TRY, to be realistic in your evaluation of this very good team!
This highlights the need of a proper coach even if its a glasner. I'd rather best we can get but we need a coach who understands a system and training discipline carrick will suffer the longer hes in charge unless he realises the mistakes hes making. Vibes only get you so far
I never thought, you are empty like this. You are trying everything and chance to understimate carricks credit. Before carrick we were not even thinking champions league football, we even forget how to win. Now under carrick 7 games unbeaten with 1 draw, and you dont allow single credit to give carrick. Leeds just not clinical, despite creating a few opportunities ...... City only need one opportunity and the ball's suddenly in the back of the Leeds net ! Mind you, i thought O'Reilly should also have scored with his header.

I @snowflakeRIFAI get that you like messi, trust me I do too but if he had played in the EPL then the debate btn him and CR7 wouldn't have existed coz he would be the Goat for all of us. EPL is the best league and if you play in it and shine your considered one of the best an example is Haland
@benturner3458 Ok but let's narrow this down. City's goal is 1. O'Reilly has to be scoring that, Marmoush missed a sitter. So that's 3 goals. Cavert Lewis should've scored 2. One of them was a hard angle and Guehi did well to put him off and that was never a pen plus a never a red card so. It should've been: Leeds 2-3 City but at the end of the day City won 0-1 so.
So a player has a high boot follow through, with studs up and doesn't get a card? You all know any other team in the prem would have a yellow upgraded to a red via var... The league is so cooked especially when it comes to consistency when oil clubs are involved!
The 'Referee' was a joke! he needs to be investigated! Silva gets kicked in the chest... no foul, Leeds player backs into City player, Leeds free kick and a City yellow card! Leeds player bumps into City player, Referee gives a free kick! why? it wasn't intentional. all credit to Leeds, they played their hearts out and made a game of it, Great game but the so called referee needs to be investigated.
@danielhorrocks4064 the stupidity of your comment is thinking normal human beings cant see the flight of the ball in mid air with half a view, 3/4 view 😂 He knows the ball is there, if he "doesnt" its a pen because the angle of the arm changed as it was dropping towards him

Arsenal have a narrow lead and an easier CL Draw. The advantage is two fold for Arsenal. Man City more exhausted and less psychological pressure for Arsenal as they know they have a good chance in thr CL if it goes Pete Tong in the League.

Roll on champions league so I don’t have to watch this stoke city garbage anymore 🤦‍♂️
Looking at comments and everyone is complaining about the corners and the football Arsenal is playing, we ve been playing the best football in Premier League for years and never been rewarded, you guys can keep complaining and crying, i just want my team to win it, and even win it all, if is from a corner idgaf, a win is a win
Take away the trade mark set pieces and Arsenal are an above average side in open play . Referee and var had absolute shocker today out there in their protection of Arsenal and bad enough not giving the first half penalty shout but to then deny a stone wall 2nd penalty was shocking . Chelsea deserved more and looked better in open play but those officiating the game had a completely different idea . And just in case I was a neutral watching it today .
I don't get these refs. Rice clearly handled it in the box and no pen. Yes Neto deserved a red but you've decided to pull the play back when Martinelli has taken the advantage and is bearing down on the Chelsea box. It's not even a mistake per week at this rate. It's a mistake per game
Come on Arsenal - just eight wins max and you win the title. If Man C slip up just once, with draw or loss, then it goes down to seven wins needed. Not an Arsenal fan - but just so happy that they might win the title again after all these years.

I've never seen the side that looks so fucking relaxed and nonchalant while being in relegation battle. Wolves look like they are ready to die on the pitch. I'll always maintain that the rot started under Ange when he decided to abandon the league after Christmas. You just don't fucking do that. It has a tremendous long term psychological damage to the players because they will now always think…

unpopular opinion: our fans are part of the problem, these players are better than this shit, but for anybody with just a basic understanding of sports psychology it’s clear this is a mental block, chanting you are not fit to wear this shirt has an opposite reaction, do people think they want to lose? get relegated etc?

Signing players like Gallagher is clear evidence that that CEO and Frank were hired as an inside job to kill all the momentum of us becoming a new european giant after the EL win. Literally a humiliation ritual.

We're only 13 points off Arsenal right now with 10 games left to play, still in the FA Cup and and in the Champions League as well 🤔 You never know in this life as my late grandmother used to tell my grandfather when he asked her whether she'd remarry on the day after his funeral, she died before he did btw i guess we'll never know

because the same issues with midfield being sliced open on every counter attack and still concecing goal with all players back and we scored off moments with set pieces and deflections. You cant rely on something like that. Theres no strucure to our build up. The way we just fall apart after conceding 1 goal vs 3 up should be concerning and shows serious mental fragility

One of the more strange games I can remember in recent memory. At times we look like we can't complete a basic pass and are so easily played through yet we had multiple 3 goal cushions. Bizarre team during a bizarre season. Good luck predicting how things are going to finish!

anyone who watched that game and forrest and wasnt seriously worried is burying their head in the sand. That could very easily have gone 4-3 with the summerville chance and were having a very different converastion. Structurally all over the place with nobody to pass the ball to. One bad pass and structure is so bad theres no safety net for even 1 error. doughnut hold in midfield and becker…

Roseniors first loss in the PL. Hes got the most expensive squad in history to play with getting the win is a good result. This is one of the few games I thought we had left with a big risk of dropping points but we've finished with all 3. Not the best performance from us but its not easy playing against a team fighting for european qualification on an upturn in form. We came through another game…
